Ok, I need a little bit of info..or at least good guessing. From you TWO guys...you know who you are, and anyone else that wants to chime in.

My wife called NVC tonight. We emailed our Expedite Request late Sunday night, decided to give NVC a few days to process it until calling.

She said that she was calling to see if they received our expedite request..the NVC operator told her that it was received this morning and already forwarded to Montreal Consulate, and if we dont hear something within a week, we need to call NVC back.

Ok, so question is, did they send just the Expedite Request to Montreal and now Montreal is going to see if they're going to approve it? and then request the file from NVC?

Did they forward the whole file to Montreal to be processed and this means that the Expedite was approved at NVC level and I should be hearing soon on an interview date? I'm hoping a few people here that have experience or have knowledge of the process can enlighten me.

thanks in Advance.

When I had an expedite request in for my step-daughter, this is what happened. I sent the request to the NVC. NVC receives the request and forwards it to the embassy for their consideration. Once the embassy decides, they notify the NVC. At this point, I believe the NVC sends the paperwork to the embassy and the embassy will contact you. We had no paperwork at the NVC since it got lost in the express mail. We were in the process of replacing everything when the expedite situation came up. We were in Peru at the time. I did call the embassy once NVC said it was out of their hands. The lady at the embassy said they would contact us, but that was not possible since the only paperwork they had contained my US contact information and I was in Peru for another month and a half. It all got worked out. At the interview, the chief consular officer told me how it would normally work for an expedite.

So you need to wait to hear what the embassy's decision is on your expedite. You can call the NVC in about a week and they should know what is up.

Expedite can take around 10 days to process, but that is generally speaking.. its really at montreals discretion if they deside to grant the expedite or not.. NVC can grant it and forward it to montreal but then its montreals choice to accept it or not as well.

Had an expedite interview myself back in 2009. ( tho it was military related )

Ok, that's what I needed to know, thanks. So Montreal ultimately has to make the decision on whether to grant the Expedite or not...

Grassy #### Senoir.

Yea, hopefully you find out sooner and you get some good news.

thats it mate. its good theyve acted quickly on your email though. once the consulate approves you'll be assigned an interview date and they send the whole file from the nvc to the consulate.

id say youll know by the end or the week or monday if theyve approved it and id hazard a guess to say you should have an interview date assigned to you very soon. im still thinking it will be before christmas.

fingers crossed for you mate

If I can offer any advice to you right now mate, it would be not to worry, really. Compared to what Ive been thru recently, it was a piece of cake. All you have to do is get that stuff emailed out, with attachments - I sent them as pdf files.

Then you can sit back. Id be surprised if the criteria was different / higher at the NVC / Consulate. Once its out - probably give them a bell + email on Friday. The good thing is the NVC will speak to you now, whereas the USCIS wouldnt. So you can chase a status up if your wife's not available.

Id say for sure you will know of your interview date before Christmas - theres, what, 12 or 13 working days left, and your email will have already been sent out. In fact - you can call the NVC and ask them if/when your expedite request has been forwarded to Montreal. Ours was sent to the Embassy within a day or two I think.

The request was sent to Montreal yesterday morning ...that's what they told her...I figure if they approve it, they'll do the same as they did with out, adjudicate the case there, instead of NVC processing...I'm just worried about making sure we got enough evidence and stuff. I'd rather be over prepared than under..

I was too, I shouldnt worry. I think you can never had too much evidence in my mind. BUT I know of someone who had an expedite approved with a very short letter and dr letter indeed. Its all about the facts. Would you believe someone who wrote a novel about their sprained thumb, or a very brief - to the point note - backed up with a medical document about someone that has a severe illness? I know its an anxious time, Id imagine the NVC are waiting to receive the OK from Montreal now then as your expedite request has more than likely been forwarded already. Follow it up on Friday morning, ask the NVC to CONFIRM what date your expedite request was sent to the embassy, too. It helps clarify things, as occasionally I was unlucky enough to speak to someone that just could not be bothered to dig and find out the correct facts for me.

I'm not worried about the EXPEDITE itself..all the info is there..one page medical report with summaries and stuff. I'm worried about the usual regular #######..lol. Like them asking me my wife's fav sexual position..how many tattoo's we got..what type of cigarettes we smoke...how did we meet...and what kind of cars we drive, lol.

originally I told my wife when we first met online that I was a massage therapist, lol. Didn't want her to think I had money, then when I told her what I really did..she didn't believe me, lol. Took me 3 days to convince her, lol. I finally got her to come to my place and we drove by my office...once she saw my name on the sign in front of the place..it clicked, lol.

Somebody asked they had lot of hair (don't worry, on the head!) in the PP pic.

But, at POE time, they lost lot of hair due to the stress of wait in the immigration process.

Now the question is - if the POE officer will stop him since the current head differs from the PP pic or a wig must be purchased to clone the PP pic? :bonk:
