Filing for I130 in October?

Hey,

My I130 application was recieved on the 18th October and was last touched on the 26th October...I hvae heard nothing since then, and since its been over a month is this normal? I thought they would send a letter for interview in 30 days ?

Just wondered if anyone is in the same position?

from CIS it goes to NVC and after that you get scheduled an interview.

typical wait time in USCIS is 5 months.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news...but where have you been? Go take a look at your timeline, especially down at the bottom where they have the estimates/projections. I would normally advise not to put much faith in them...but that's when trying to convince someone that it's just an estimate and will probably take longer...

The average wait time at the CSC is 5+ months right now, although some have come through recently at 2.5 - 3.5 months. After that you still have to file for the actual visa, all you've done so far is file a petition asking for your relative to be allowed to apply for a visa.

An interview in 30 days? I've never heard of that, even with expedites

You're looking at a 5 month wait for petition approval - at least - as your petition is in California. Then a few months to get through NVC, then another month or 2 for the interview to be scheduled.

So if you filed in October, look at a summer interview

What you're going through now, the petition sent in October and nothing since the 20th, is normal
