I don't believe that jews and christians of today will go to heaven if they die in that state.

It is my understanding that Allah did give permission for men to marry more than one, up to four wives and it is not the place of any person, not even you, to forbid what Allah has allowed or to allow what Allah has forbidden. I will not say that's my opinion but rather it's how I understand it.

PS - What struck me as so twisted about these two comments so close together is that they say alot about a person's vision of God and Islam. This God has no knowledge of, and no mercy or compassion for Christians and Jews that He wil change His mind about allowing some into heaven to suit this individual's view of what non-Muslims deserve. On the other hand, He has so much mercy and compassion for men's sexual needs that He allows men to collect women out of desire, and there are no conditions on them.

Compounding this selective acceptance of Quranic verse is the arrogant statement that "it is not the place of any person, not even you, to forbid what Allah has allowed or to allow what Allah has forbidden". This comes after saying that what God says about judging some Christians and Jews as worthy of heaven is worthy of doubt.

Well, here is His Word:

2:62 Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in God and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

5:69 Those who believe (in the Qur'an), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians and the Christians,- any who believe in God and the Last Day, and work righteousness,- on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

22:17 Those who believe (in the Qur'an), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians, Christians, Magians, and Polytheists,- God will judge between them on the Day of Judgment: for God is witness of all things.

He said it. Who are you to doubt it? He also said that it is impossible for a man to be fair among women, so why the insistance that there is an unencumbered right to four wives? Where does that fall in your evaluation of the permission?

But yet he gave them permission to do it? Allah contradicts Himself? Please don't insult Allah.

I already explained my position.... christians and jews who died in that time will go to heaven and that is what those verses are talking about. No one who worships a prophet or an angel alongside Allah will go to heaven. By your reasoning no one needs be a muslim because we are all going to heaven.

Hello, they were CHRISTIANS in "that time", hint hint! They were Jews in "that time", hint hint". Their theology was well formed before Islam came to the Arabs. Christians had proclaimed the divinity of Jesus and the Trinity more than 300 years before. You have no concept of history, and that is why you believe (incorrectly) that there is a difference between what they believed when the Quran was sent down and now.

You lose credibilty each time you post such nonsense, and that's not my fault.

Anyway, you are the one who's always saying that I 'cherry pick' ahadith or ayaat so you should know that you have to take the whole Quran as proof and not just one ayah you picked out.

Now explain to me how you call Allah a liar? He says right there that the jews and christians who disbelieve will be in hell. If they don't accept Islam and Muhammad as the final messenger they don't believe. If they do accept Islam and Muhammad as the final messenger then they're ummmm..... muslims?

There were jews and christians who believed the actual revelation that was sent down.... not those beliefs that Allah condems in the Quran like the trinity and such. Those who were true followers of those prophets will go to heaven.... others will not. It's really very simple.

Narrated Abu Hurairah [radhi-yAllâhu 'anhu]: Allâh's Messenger [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] said: "By Him (Allâh) in Whose Hand Muhammad's soul is, there is none from amongst the Jews and Christians (of these present nations) who hears about me and then dies without believing in the Message with which I have been sent (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism) but he will be from the dwellers of the (Hell) Fire." Now has come to you Our Messenger (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) explaining to you much of that which you used to hide from the Scripture and pass over (i.e. leaving out without explaining) much. Indeed, there has come to you from Allâh a light (Prophet Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) and a plain Book (this Qur'ân).

[005:016] Wherewith Allâh guides all those who seek His Good Pleasure to ways of peace, and He brings them out of darkness by His Will to light and guides them to the Straight Way (Islâmic Monotheism).

[005:017] Surely, in disbelief are they who say that Allâh is the Messiah, son of Maryam (Mary). Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "Who then has the least power against Allâh, if He were to destroy the Messiah, son of Maryam (Mary), his mother, and all those who are on the earth together?" And to Allâh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them. He creates what He wills. And Allâh is Able to do all things.

[005:068] Say: (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) "O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! You have nothing (as regards guidance) till you act according to the Taurât (Torah), the Injîl (Gospel), and what has (now) been sent down to you from your Lord (the Qur'ân)." Verily, that which has been sent down to you (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) from your Lord increases in most of them (their) obstinate rebellion and disbelief. So be not sorrowful over the people who disbelieve.

[002.139] Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] to the Jews and Christians), "Dispute you with us about Allâh while He is our Lord and your Lord? And we are to be rewarded for our deeds and you for your deeds. And we are sincere to Him [in worship and obedience (i.e. we worship Him Alone and none else, and we obey His Orders)]."

[002.140] Or say you that Ibrâhîm (Abraham), Ismâ'îl (Ishmael), Ishâq (Isaac), Ya'qûb (Jacob) and Al-Asbât [the offspring of the twelve sons of Ya'qûb (Jacob)] were Jews or Christians? Say, "Do you know better or does Allâh (know better ... that they all were Muslims)? And who is more unjust than he who conceals the testimony [i.e. to believe in Prophet Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] when he comes, as is written in their Books. (See Verse 7:157)] he has from Allâh? And Allâh is not unaware of what you do."

[002.141] That was a nation who has passed away. They shall receive the reward of what they earned, and you of what you earn. And you will not be asked of what they used to do.

[004:159] And there is none of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) but must believe in him ['Isâ (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), as only a Messenger of Allâh and a human being] before his ['Isâ (Jesus) ['alayhis-salâm] or a Jew's or a Christian's] death (at the time of the appearance of the angel of death). And on the Day of Resurrection, he [isâ (Jesus)] will be a witness against them.

(V.4:159) -- "Before his death," has two interpretations: before Jesus' death after his descent from the heavens, or a Jew's or a Christian's death, at the time of the appearance of the Angel of Death when he will realize that 'خsâ (Jesus) was only a Messenger of Allâh, and had no share in Divinity.
