Hi just wondering what is required at the Juarez Consulate for the K1 visa interview. Is there a page or thread somewhere that explains this? Also is it true that the US petitioner has to send their original birth certificate to the interview?

Hello. Ive been reading tons of reviews of the CDJ consulate and i made a list of several forms/documents you need:

• MEDICAL ( $150 USD )

1. Passport

2. Open invitation letter

3. Vaccination records

4. Address in Ciudad Juarez (Hotel, phone number, and room number)

• CONSULATE

1. Open invitation letter

2. Form DS-156 ( 2 copies )

3. Form DS/156K ( 2 copies )

4. Form DS-157 (2 copies)

5. Form 0F-167 or I-134 ( with supporting evidence attached )

6. Form CDJ 402 – statement of intent to marry ( petitioner and beneficiary )

7. Passport

8. 3 passport pictures

9. Birth certificates ( Petitioner and beneficiary – original and copy )

10. Medical examinations

11. BANAMEX receipt ( $350 USD )

12. Proof of ongoing relationship

13. US address where it is intended to live

It seems that some forms at the CDJ website are expired so lets hope they upload the new ones soon.

What Im not sure about is if the beneficiary needs the police records even though he or she has never been convicted of any crime.

Regards,

I believe they WILL need a Police report even if never in trouble with the law...it is common in Mexico sometimes just to apply for work. Cost about $15 USD /150 pesos.

Thanks for this list!

Cool...

Well I still have some doubts, I asked a guy that already went through all the process and he said that CDJ consulate doesn't need any police record.

His exact answer to my question was:

"Hi there!

No, we didn't. Mexico does not have police certificates so there's no need to get one. The consulate doesn't require it. "

As far as I know thats right, there are no police certificates in Mexico, the closest to them can be the "Carta de Antecedentes No Penales".

I think I'll take that with me just in case... you never know ;)

yep I think a 'Carta de Antecedentes No Penales' would be a police report saying you have no record. They are easy to get anyway in Cozumel...but it is a tiny island & everyone knows if you have ever been in jail :):innocent:

No hay problema!
