I also sent my package on the 8th of november and got the NOA on the 23rd of november. Still waiting for biometrics letter. I saw here people waited over a month, even two for biometrics letter.

I was also worried but I realized it's december so maybe that's why is so slow...

good luck, and hope you will get your letter soon!

It also could be that your local office, maybe only sheduals biometrics on certain days or certain weeks of the month. As well as the local office might be REALLY busy. So you could end up waiting because of thos things.

Because it depends on the capacity and the backlog at the local office.

Agreed. All the offices are different and some are busier than others. It took nearly two months to get our biometrics letter and while some people are fortunate to get their letters much more quickly, a lot of people have been in the same position as us. The EAD arrived just a week after the biometrics appointment so we were still within the somewhat typical 3-month timeline to receive the EAD.

I am the US citizen, my hubby is the applicant.

Inky said it right - you never know how busy your office is and how often they give out appointments for fingerprints and photographs leading to no specific timeline for it to follow.

And with xmas parties going on now .... ;)

Seriously, one just has to be patient and hope to get the surprise in the mailbox rather sooner then later.

As far as calling the national hotline goes, unfortunately they don't know about the workload in the small application support centers all over the country and are only good for filing a service request?

Hope the mailman brings the good news soon

Some offices are backlogged. A month isn't that long a wait even though it feels like forever. Have you looked at the USCIS processing time for your local office?

In our case, we waited 2.5 months because the Washington DC field office (listed in some profiles as Fairfax, VA - where it is actually located - or as Alexandria, VA - where the biometrics is done) is backlogged, which is evident on the USCIS site.

However, AP doesn't require biometrics - we received AP approval before biometrics was even done. For us it didn't matter, because my husband overstayed a B2 visa so he can't travel until he has the green card in hand, but if you're adjusting based on not being out of status you'll likely receive your AP by the end of January regardless of when you get biometrics. What field office are you based out of?

I wouldn't count on being able to travel at the end of Jan so don't make plans. Remember that you can't travel until you have either AP or GC and the rates that they process these seem to vary from office to office and time of year. I also 'needed' to travel at the end of November but was unable to due to lack of AP or GC (mainly my own fault as I applied at the beginning of October). As with everything to do with this process you will just have to be patient!
