Did you ever get 'screwed' ordering from a website?

Alright, here's the story...

Last week I found Chris' cologne on this site, fragrancecosmetic.com. I can't find it anywhere, so I got very excited and ordered it. The site seems safe, McAfee put a little green check mark beside it, you can pay with pay pal and all that fun stuff.

BUT, they sent me an e-mail with the tracking number and everything, and it still does not appear on USPS... I e-mailed them, asking them what the h*ll was going on (not in those words), and they e-mailed me back saying that once the package would be received in the postal office of distribution where I live, it would appear online... I'm thinking that doesn't make sense, and I got screwed on that one...

Has anyone ever bought anything from them? Or had similar experiences?

The USPS tracks things differently than UPS or FEDEX. They are actually telling the truth. I have had a few times when i track it that it just literally said at distribution and delivered. Now if it is a week and a half/two weeks then i would say you were scammed. But also remember it is getting holiday seasons so post office running a little slower.

Happens to me sometimes if they use USPS (Amazon orders for example)- they notify the USPS to pick up the package but until that's done there's no tracking on the website. I think you're good.

Not sure what cologne you're looking for but I found fragrancenet.com good even though Amazon often times can beat even their prices...

Haven't bought anything from them. I did a quick search on complaints.com but don't see anything about them. I tend to only order from amazon and brand name stores because they've been 100% reliable.

I did see a complaint about fragrance.net, though. lol

Sounds like normal USPS, and not the company your ordered from.

It usually appears online when the package arrives at your local post office and scanned for delivery. Sometimes it only appears after the package was delivered. And as the other posters mentioned...the post office tends to be slow this time of the year.

A bit of advice, always research the business before placing your order online. :)

I wouldn't worry just yet, I have ordered quite a few things over the past month and have had different tracking situations. Usps doesnt tend to update there system too often. Hang in there :)

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

I'm going to keep this 'complaint.com' site close by... I did ask myself for a good hour whether or not to order from them, but I took a chance. They replied in the same day when I e-mailed them though... I guess I'll give them this week and see what happens...

I also read a lot of complaints about fragrance.net, but I think it was because people were ordering from the UK...

Again, thanks everyone, I had no idea if this had ever happened to anyone else before...

Vero, how did you get the exclamation mark in your topic title? When I create a new topic I only see those available as a post icon.

At least it's not Canada post. It would take forever to get there, and it would't show up on their tracking system until after it was delivered

Amen to that.
