Sweety's removal of conditions is coming up in the next few months and we are looking forward to it.

My main concern for the moment is we moved last March and we filed online an AR-11. We have the copy on file and printed, everything looked ok until last week. We received a letter from USCIS reminding us of our need to file I-751. How nice of them but the problem is they sent the letter to our old address. Hmm. I do a little search and find out I was supposed to file a I-865 as well.

I think better late than never in regards to the I-865 but what can we do about the AR-11 which was obviously never recieved or registered? Anyone else find themselves in a similar situation?

We just want this Removal of Conditions to go smoothly and don't want anyone to think that we "have been hiding out".

Thx

The address issue seems to be a common occurrence lately; here's a recent thread that discusses the issue.

Reminder sent to old address

I did not receive any formal notification of my AR-11, I just saved the records of having sent it. I fully expect that if I do receive notification to file my I-751 it will be sent to the old address. :)

As fas as the I-865 goes, IMO you should file it asap. You will receive official notification of that change.

Good luck.

go ahead and file the I865 still. as for the AR11, chances are it was received but your records have not been updated so if i were you i'd call the hotline and have them update it asap.

you should not have a problem when you file your ROC, since you have proof that you filed it online.

i filled ar-11 and i-865 when we moved but I only got confirmation for the I-865 and nothing with the ar-11 and when they sent me a letter reminding me for ROC they sent it to my old address. But I got my NOA for ROC in our new address. So its not really a big problem.

The whole change of address thing has been a disaster for me. My wife never received her permanent resident card because the USCIS kept sending it over and over again to the wrong address, no matter how many times I filed an AR-11 and called the 800 number. Eventually, the card was lost in the mail.

Now I'm to send in the I-751 without being able to send a copy of the resident card. Incidentally, the reminder to send in the I-751 was originally sent to an old address, before it was sent to my current one. Along with the reminder, they stuck in a letter about the importance of filing an AR-11 with a change-of-address. Somehow they managed, on second effort, to send that reminder to my correct address, so I guess they do know my address, they just choose to foul things up anyway.

I'm expecting a triple-whammy of rejection on the I-751. I'm sure it will be rejected due to having no evidence of a permanent resident card, that I won't get my money back, and that the rejection notice will be sent to the wrong address. The USCIS has turned me into a hardcore believer in Murphy's law.

We filed AR-11 online. But to be safe we also snail-mailed our change of address. We got a receipt from USCIS showing my name and NEW address in the form letter. When we file for removal of conditions, we will attach a copy of the receipt to our application.

Of course, I don't know yet if there will be confusion!

You did update United States Postal Service, right? We asked for all our mail to be forwarded to our new addy too.

Did you include your USCIS receipt number in the online AR-11 when you filed? Anyway, others here have said it happens often. So no need to worry!
