The short answer is that people in the community can open any topic they want under the TOS and certainly having legitimate fun (even if it is not everyone's cup of tea) is allowed. We have Terabytes of BW available per month and use only a fraction. The server we use is more than powerful and is not taxed from things like this. The long and short is that if having some legitimate down time/fun/relaxation gives a few smiles then I fully support it. One exception I can think is if people create tons of topics 'purposefully' to spam/flood a forum (i.e. against the TOS). Another exception is that if people use game threads to toss personal attacks and 'hide' them behind a mirage of coded words and other coding. We have some smart mods so if this happens (while we are not always perfect or as fast to spot it) people will get busted.

In general, to all, if you do not like some of these threads then I understand -- we can not all always agree. I would ask however that you let the members who enjoy them have fun. I expect that they would return the courtesy on VJ to members that they may not agree with on posting (other topics).

Thank you to all and I hope this helps clear up things. I will check back in this thread if there are questions.

Thanks Captain - this fits generally with the understanding I and most mods have I think. If you don't like a topic - don't read it/participate in it. If ther is a TOS violation - report it, but don't disrupt the thread.

Mods shouldn't be mindreaders or try to discern what a particular poster is doing in a thread...and iirc, you, Brad were the one to TB AJ, and to my knowledge, you also DIDN'T do anything about the personal attacks on me, which Ewok clearly stated in his OP that a gaming thread shouldn't be used for coded insults to other posters. What's the point of reporting it if you do nothing about it but wipe up the mess by invising the offending posts?

So basically Brad, if you were the one who TB AJ while doing nothing about my attack, you are a huge mod fail imo.

Captain,

I did not disrupt the Who's next thread. Brad (in this thread) and William (in a previous thread) are accusing me of such but they are lying.

I ask that you take a look into the circumstances behind my thread ban. I reported a personal attack and then played the game for a while. There were no attempts to disrupt at all.
