I'm going to ask straight up, what is the point of posting repeated negative threads about Islam and Muslims if not to mock Islam, display prejudices, and to demand that Muslims here apologize, grovel and capitulate to your assumptions?

Why_ne, you post only hyperbolic articles because they suit your agenda. Of course you don't see any editorializing, yet, without it, you would have found the same circumstances to be a yawn.

We're on to you.

Post on here any pieces of the article that are false and/or opinionated.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Perception is everything. You only add to it by attacking those who attack your faith, rather than using good examples to defend your faith.

Gee, I feel like I'm in grade school again. Here are the first two paragraphs, mind you I agree with most of the opinion, but it's opinion nonetheless. I've highlighted opinion words as well as factual additions that serve not to relay the important facts of the story but to contribute to the overall reaction one is supposed to have.

It all began a year and a half ago, with a quarrel over a bowl of water. A group of women farm workers were suffering in the heat near a village in Pakistan's Punjab province. Aasia Noreen, an illiterate 45-year-old mother of five, offered them water, but was rebuffed. Noreen was a Christian, they said, and therefore her water was unclean - sadly, a common taunt hurled at Pakistan's beleaguered Christians. But rather than swallowing the indignity, she mounted a stout defense of her faith.

Word of the exchange swiftly filtered through the village of Ittan Wali, in Sheikhupura district. The local mullah took to his mosque's loudspeakers, exhorting his followers to take action against Noreen. In a depressingly familiar pattern, her defense of her faith was twisted into an accusation of blasphemy, according to her family and legal observers familiar with the case. As a frenzied mob pursued her, the police intervened, taking her into custody. But far from protecting her, they arrested and charged Noreen with insulting Islam and its prophet. And on Nov. 8, after enduring 18 months in prison, she was sentenced to death by a district court, making her the first woman to suffer that fate. (See how WikiLeaks' disclosure fueled anti-U.S. anger in Pakistan.)

Perception works both ways paul. It's not the responsibility of people offended by bigotry to pander to the bigots

Unfortunately when the majority perception of a class is that they are a certain way, then it's up to that class and their supporters to disprove it.

It may not be right necessarily, but that's the way the world works....

Is the article false ?

Please answer the question with either a: Yes or No.

How much do you understand about the way news stories are written?

We can accept the facts at face value, that isn't the issue. The issue is whether the story was written in a manner that encourages sensationalist interpretations and whether the story was posted on this board as part of a prejudiced agenda.

Unfortunately when the majority perception of a class is that they are a certain way, then it's up to that class and their supporters to disprove it.

No paul, it's lazy.

Your are really reaching with those adjectives.

No paul, it's lazy.

For you, it's lazy. Lazy wins elections though. Why do you think Obama was elected? Why do you think McCain got the GOP nomination? Laziness..... If people actually understood who both of those nimrods were, neither one would have won their party nomination/the presidency.

Not really, emotionally loaded terminology is pretty standard in newswriting. It's intended to create an emotional reaction in the reader. A clear example of media bias

And I thought you believed in personal responsibilty. Apparently that involves spoon feeding the lazy

The same facts could be communicated from the opposite perspective changing a few adjectives and phrases and have a totally different effect.

I believe in personal responsibility, more than anything.

This doesn't change the fact that people are sheep.
