Hi, We Are in AP in Moscow since August 26, 2010. We are wondering if anyone else is in the same situation at this embassy?

I'm not in the same situation and don't know anyone who is. But were you told or do you have a guess as to why you are in AP? There typically is a reason although they may have not told you. The non-USC fiance(e)/spouse may have come up on some list or someone else with the same name may be on some list. Was he or she active in the communist party? What about terror watch lists?

Basically, they have something that they want to check in more depth. There is no particular time frame in which they guarantee anything and finding people who are also in AP will not necessarily tell you anything since their cases are likely different. You might consider contacting your representative or senator and trying to get more information through them.

Don't usually hear of something this long. Was the passport retained?

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Is the beneficiary from a Muslim area? Was there previous Immigration History that was not disclosed on Immigration forms?

Hi, and thanks for all responses. At the end of her interview they kept her passport and said it will arrive in 2 weeks. Now it is almost 4 months. Three years ago when she first immigrated from Uzbekistan Moscow, ( now a russian citizen) She made a mistake and took a work permit from a company she saw advertised outside of subway. It turns out it wasn't real and she pled guilty to having a fraudulant work permit, a $ 100 fine. After this they let her be a federation citizen. I am sure they are running a check on her to make sure she isn't bad.

Does anyone have any insight? I am going to Moscow for a couple of weeks after Christmas, But it would be even better if our visa came through before I buy a ticket. Every Thursday I call the State Dept. and they always say administrative processing pending consular approval at embassy. This last week the woman stated that the last case notes were on Aug. 26, 2010, the day of the interview. To me this means nobody has touched our case. I have no clue.

thank you everyone with insight happy holidays to all
