"New" interview scheduling, not good

Hello all, is anyone else having problems with the "New" scheduling procedure? The info at the new website is fantastic, but the online scheduling (IR2 interview, step daughter) does not work . . . . :o I tried the online system, did not work. Then called the (214) service center number, the operator uses the same system for scheduling, did not work. . . I've been talking with service center since Nov 30, 2010, sometimes calling 3 times a day. Each time i speak with an operator, I give them same info (case no., passport no., DOB)... they enter into system, and Error says " check passport no. or check case no. Every operator has given different info about the system. . . some even tried to have me call the "old" phone number of the US Embassy, Manila .. . just to keep me satisfied !!!! ha

Anyhow received interview appointment for June 2010, but had to cancel due to renewal of passport,,, (the renewal of the passport was another nightmare in itself !!! that took 5 months) So, finally got passport in Sept 2010. . In Sept 2010 call for reschedule of interview (old number, with visa point PIN). I needed Jan 2011 date, but they only had dates for one month ahead (only Oct. dates). They tell me to call end of Nov or 1st week Dec 2010. . . . NOW I CANT GET APPOINTMENT DATE CAUSE THE SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK !!!!!!! The operators always tell me to "call back tomorrow"

The USA side of I-130 process was like a well oiled machine. . . I-130 was accepted within 5 months .. . its the Philippine side thats broken. Its been just nightmares once VISA process arrived in Philippines...

First I am not sure if we are talking about the same process as you didn't say which scheduling system you were using.

Is it this one?

http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3023.html

http://www.ustraveldocs.com/US-Philippines/Agreement.aspx?P=7WBuTFBLXPJAFbJKWUEDIlaBpO2If9Y4nT/vIOaU65Y=

That new scheduling system have been up BUT the scheduling on it DID NOT go into effect until December 1, 2010. From your post it looks like you have been trying before that date.

Also try a different browser. I was helping someone schedule their appointment & we were getting error using Firefox. Then we tried IE & it went through fine.

It wouldn't hurt to call the US Embassy in the Philippines directly (632)982-5555 - as per the new scheduling instructions/procedure - they also do the scheduling on their end. They may be able to do it for your or tell you if there is any problems on their end, etc.

Since you are getting nowhere calling the 214 number - call the Embassy directly, they do scheduling on their end.

I've been using the ustraveldocs.com site to schedule.. My first call to the new service center was Nov 30, and called everyday after that... last call was Dec 3... From what info i did read on other posts (K visas) the new system was working,,, it's the Immediate Relative visa scheduling (IR visa) thats not working. I called the Embassy direct, they could not help me with the scheduling......... Embassy says that the NEW system only allows for scheduling through the ustraveldoc.com I'm using IE browser....

@thekfc your friend was applying for K visa? if so, then the system was working for that visa type..... IR visa scheduling is not working... the embassy website directs you to the

ustravedocs.com site for scheduling.

Yes as of December 1, 2010. That is the new change for Immediate Relative visa scheduling.

If your interview have not yet been scheduled by NVC - you can schedule yourself.

Oh, thank you for your reply. I think this is a good move from them, right? We don't have to wait a long time to schedule interviews for our wives :)

Matt and Evieve . . . . if u do try to schedule online,,, please let me know if u r successful. I'm still trying to schdule IR2 interview and still getting error messages. The call center is no help, they use the same online site as we do.

I click on "Scheduling an appointment" link. . . .

I input: Passport number, Case number, birth date, password, and security code . . . . .

Agreed. The website looks great, but lacks reason and understanding.

I tried scheduling online. It failed.

I called their number they gave for scheduling.

Me: "Hi, I'm calling to schedule an immigrant visa appointment."

Operator: "Okay. What's the applicant's [name], [case number], [passport number]?"

Me: "The applicant's name is..."

Operator: "Please hold while I verify"

Me: "Okay."

Operator: "Sir, the applicant must wait for a letter from the Embassy."

Me: "A letter? You mean the packet containing medical instructions?"

Operator: "No, a letter containing the appointment date."

Me: "The appointment date? The USEM Manila website says if you have not been scheduled an appointment, that you can request one. Why does this office offer immigrant visa appointment scheduling, but first requires an appointment letter from the Embassy?"

Operator: "Uhh...uhh sir...it's US Embassy's policy to first send out the appointment letter before we can schedule an interview for you."

Me: "Okay. Thank you very much."

Should I wait for Embassy letter to hopefully reach the applicant via Philippine postal service?

ok, i'm trying to call the service center,,, on hold for 33 min... still on hold... Tried earlier today, on hold 51 min, i finally hang up

Appointment date? only appointment date is for Interview date sent via NVC..... If that's what the operator means. I really think its a "coverup" response by the operators because they have no idea why the system is not working for us...... When you try the online scheduling, what errors are you getting?

The errors i'm getting: 1) wrong passport number or wrong case number. 2) either already scheduled or interview date is future date . . . . .

On hold with service center,,, 43min, still holding...

Maybe they're having problems with IR2 scheduling. I called direct to the Embassy 63 2 301 2000, ext 5184 or 5185 last Friday... after 30 or so attempts, i finally got to talk to the person on ext 5184. She tells me she does not know whats wrong with my scheduling and that she cant schedule, that i need to schedule via online or service center.... she tells me to call back next Tues or Wed and hopehully the problem will be resolved..... typical filipino response. (i've been dealing with the philippines for 7 years now and know all their tactics). now on hold 51 mins.. still holding... can you imagine my cell phone bill?

Yes, I have already paid my IV bill and sent my IV packet (DS-230) to NVC. They have reviewed all my documents and have forwarded my case to USEM Manila.

So I'm supposed to be receiving an acceptance letter from NVC? Any idea how long that takes?
