No updates, No RFEs and then Interview letter? Good sign?

I filed my AOS and EAD on 10/18, got NOA1 on 11/24 and Biometrics done on 11/10/2010. I did not get any updated on the USCIS website nor any mail besides the NOA1 and Bio appointment. No EAD yet or approval of I130 or I485 applications.

But today, I got an interview letter for Jan 6, 2011. Is this a good sign? Just nervous a little since I did not get any updates not even a single RFE.

Also, how come the NOA2 says initial interview? Is there another interview after this? Thanks anyone. A little scared and excited at the same time...

Thanks. I am just kind of worried that my USCIS statuses for I485, I765 and I130 and not updated nor did I got any notices that they were approved. I pray it's the real thing. Thanks again.

Sometimes they go ahead and schedule the I-485 interview and never send an EAD card in response to your I-765 application. Anyway, you don't need your EAD card once the GC is approved.

Usually if you filed the I-130 and I-485 concurently, you will get the updates and approval notices for both AFTER the interview.

It's a great thing. It means your local office isn't backlogged! You may get your EAD before your interview or you may not. The EAD allows you to work before you get your green card if your green card takes awhile. If you end up getting your green card first, no worries, you don't need an EAD at all then.

Your time line is very close to mine. I got the interview letter yesterday for same day as yours. I also have no recent updates and nothing specially on EAD. I have heard of cases where they actually get their GC approved before they even receive the EAD. Sometimes this is normal. Also, I am not saying this to scare you, both of us are in the same boat here, but technically you can still get an RFE anytime during the whole process. That even includes getting an RFE in the interview itself. Hopefully, neither one of us will have an RFE though ;)

Anyhow, just keep your hopes up and it all will be over with soon enough. And of course I mean with a good happy ending :)

Best of luck to everyone!

Well yours took a bit longer, but I haven't had any touches on the website either, or RFEs.....just the interview letter. The process is faster than the website most of the time.
