easier said than done gary. when you get 3 kids under the same roof, and have to get them bathed, dressed, fed, and lunches packed BEFORE 7am, M-F, it's exhausting to do on a daily basis. try it sometime if you dare. walk a mile in OUR shoes, THEN say just get up 15 minutes earlier. we can't all live the charmed life as you say. :bonk:

perhaps husbands and wives (and unmarried foilks) shouldn't get knocked up in the first place then if they cannot handle it.

Stop relying on everyone else to fix your obvious mistakes at that point.

parents get very busy. Reality sets in. No time to carefully pack lunches for kids everyday. Time is always running short in the morning getting yourself and the crumb crunchers ready to go out the door every morning, so giving lunch money is just a practical consideration. Can you grasp this, or will a political analysis help?

It is easier and quicker to pay for school lunches, but it only took me 2 days to find out the school lunches that I was paying for were CR@P. Nachos? Hotdogs? Fries and whatever & I for one completely undersand the morning mayhem......

My answer to it-----I get up earlier. Really, it does not take but a couple of minutes to put sandwiches together, drop in a small bottle of orange/apple/whatever juice and a snack or whatever into a lunch box.

If you have 3 kids....then it's a production line. It's part of my son's earnings list to help out with the morning lunch making.

I'm not lecturing or anything, but lack of time or organization in the mornings is no excuse for your children having to eat crud.

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

:crying:

Said as if I do not have 4 children, and they are the top priority in my life. People that whine about the family they made are revolting. Can we please have a vomit icon?

This isn't about people too lazy to care for their children, it is about people too lazy to care for their children AND wanting someone else to pay for it.

WOW, it CAN be done! Of course it CAN be done. Make your children the priority in your life, be happy that you are spending time for them and you will never feel "too busy".

If someone can find time to post on VJ there is time to make lunches for your children. How stupid would we have to be to think otherwise? The fact that I am reading that someone is too busy to make lunches for their children on an internet posting board is just hillarious!

the gov't is eliminating bake sales at schools ...

they want no competition for $$$$$

the gov't is getting ready to have bake sales to build bombers ....

How many brownies does it take to build a B-2? I think they are gonna have to have a yard sale to boot!

My mother raised 4 of us. Every day she had our lunches packed, made sure we had our homework and that we all had whatever we needed for the day. School lunches sucked 40 years ago and I understand they still suck today even though big brother has been micromanaging things at the schools.

To a 10 year old, broccoli and carrots sucks. We've already gone down the route of privatizing school lunches by offering Taco Bell and Pizza Hut as non-sucky lunch alternatives and we now have an epidemic of child obesity. Consider the costs of diabetes and other obesity-related conditions - healthy school lunches, while not as tasty as Taco Bell, are a better investment for the money.

Diet is meaningless if we don't gets todays kids active..... You can eat 'healthy' foods and still be obese if you don't excercise along with it.

That's why we need PE and sports programs funded. Many schools have had to drastically cut back or eliminate athletics from the curriculum. An ounce of prevention...

I've seen more arts programs cut than Sports programs... Hell, I've seen boosters go out of their way to make sure as hell that sports programs don't get cut...

Last year, my son's PE coach was a volunteer dad and the kids were lucky if they got a little PE on Fridays. This was in Orange County, CA.
