I officially express mailed our IV packet today!!! WOOOO HOO!!! :D

So I've been studying some timelines around here. It looks like it'll take them 1-2 weeks just to put both packets in the system. Assuming no RFEs (cross your fingers!), how long is "normal" for SIF/CC these days?

IR-5

about 15 days before SIF. Once SIF, you will get the case complete in a few days. Also, another few days for them to assign you an interview date. It seems that once the case is completed, getting an early appointment date has to do with how busy your embassy is

15 days after NVC received the IV packet. 15 total days :) When I got SIF, I checked AVR and it said that the documents have been entered into the system and I checked the AVR the following day and it says that the case was completed. My wife and I were pretty anxious to hear from NVC after we got our SIF. you will get your SIF soon too. good luck! oh and you can study people's timeline to get a good estimate on your timeline as well.

Hi everyone! So glad I found this thread. My husband just sent the AOS and IV packets yesterday. Now I have questions:

1. Assuming that there's nothing wrong with the AOS and IV documents, how long it usually takes from the day IV package is sent til SIF/case completed?

2. Is it possible to re-schedule the interview date the NVC assigned to you?

Hope we will all have a smooth NVC processing. Godbless. :)

>> all cases are different but it took a bunch of us a bit more than two weeks before we got "case complete". you can study timelines from users who post on this thread.

2. Is it possible to re-schedule the interview date the NVC assigned to you?

>> yes. if you can't make it to the interview on the assigned date, you can work with the embassy in your location to reschedule. All embassies are different. Check their website but you will have to wait until your case is forward to the embassy. They do not have any knowledge of your case until they receive your case from NVC.

Thanks very much for responding. Glad to know that for most filers it takes 2-3 weeks to a month. I'm just anxious because I had my advance medical exam and it's only valid for 6 months. I feared that I had to undergo the two-month sputum culture considering that I'd been working as a medical technologist for almost four years. Glad everything turned out normal. But this time I'm worried about how long I can get out of NVC. *sigh* This entire process is like a rollercoaster ride! Hopefully we'll all finish successful. :)
