Hi All, I am a total neophyte here.

It would appear that there are no other members here with a spouse in Mongolia! Our path to this point consciously began 29 months ago. In February I will move there as a resident alien and remain until we can all return to the US together. The agony and expense of separation are overwhelming and daily phone calls and hours on messenger are obviously become increasingly intolerable and seem to make us miss each other more rather than less. The senses that are not used in phone or messenger time are more acutely attuned to the absence i think. Anyway..............

When some of you others are indicating that your application is being touched, is that information displayed on your portfolio in your account at USCIS? I have yet to see any activity of any kind on our application. Is this unusual?

03/28/2008--- Met my wife to be in Ulaanbaatar while operating a mine in Mongolia. "Saw" each other in June.

10/29/2009--- Work hiatus allows another 40 days together in Ulaanbaatar. Return to states December 12.

When you log into the USCIS website to check your case status, there is a link to the left that says something along the lines of create account, or my account. If you have not created one, do so!

When you sign in and add you case, one of the table boxes say "last update"

Thsi has come to be known as 'touched' as it is the last time someone at USCIS picked up your case and swiped the bar code. They could be going through all your information, or they could be moving it to a new filing cabinet!

It does really mean anything, and doesnt seem to have any correlation to whether it will be accepted or not, but it just gives us all a little something to hold on to :clock:

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!
