Hi Kala, you seem to be just starting this process too.

Maybe we can share some tips? I actually will not be going to do this for abt 4 months, but it seems these things take time.

Have you been able to speak to anyone at the consulate in Rio? I have tried, but so far no luck.

Any other sites that you have found useful?

Thanks,

I believe Citibank is only used with non-immigrant visas. As I recall, Marina-Del (who went through DCF this past spring) paid by cc at the consulate.

Have you e-mailed the consulate directly? Their email is immigrationrio@state.gov and they are good about getting back to you in 1-2 business days.

I dont know much about K-3, my case is different. The most helpful thing for me is reading at travel@state.gov and at the website of the Brazilian consulates to know which visa and how to go about it. It`s tiring to read this stuff online but the more you know the better. The consulate is good with emails, but it`s not possible to get them on the phone for visa questions.

Good luck,

I`m having the hardest time finding out how to pay the fee for I-130 when filing dcf by mail in Rio. Citibank? Has anyone done this?

Thanks

You will pay the fee at the consulate when you go for your application interview after you send all documents in......

http://brazil.usembassy.gov/i130-rio.html

Filing I-130 petition at the U.S. Consulate in Rio de Janeiro

Please prepare the required documents according to the appropriate information below. Send all required documents to the Immigrant Visa office together with the I-130 form. You may send the packet by mail or bring to the Consulate (Immigrant Visa drop box from 09:00am to 3:00pm M-F) for verification. Do not submit original documents. Please submit certified or notarized copies. The original documents will be required for submission on the day our office schedules your petition interview. If all documents are correct, we will contact you by e-mail to schedule the application interview and pay the applicable fee. Please bring original proof of your American citizenship on that day. Any missing documents will delay your appointment scheduling.
