g-325a: My wife's parents were divorced when she was 6months old. Her mother is dead and she nor any of her relatives know her fathers birthday or where he lives or if he is alive. Can she put unknown for his birthday and residence?

The box at the bottom that says: This form is submitted in connection with an application for: Should and I check, Status as Permanent Resident or Other and specify I-130 and CR-1?

- Just my experience to share with you.

I put unknown for my fathers address, no idea where he lives. I didn't get any kind of RFE but I was asked at my interview why I didn't know where he lived and I just explained it shortly "that my parents divorced and he moved and never said where and I haven't had contact in YEARS" The guy said oh okay and that was it.

I marked the box Other and wrote CR Visa in the blank. Don't know if that's okay yet, as I just sent in my I-130 earlier this week, but that's what I did.

I had confused this thread with another with a virtually identical title. In that thread the question had been clearly answered.

Could have been, yes. As I mentioned, I mistook this thread for another virtually identical one.

I put "UNKNOWN" for both of my parents' information and had no issues at all. I was not asked about it at any stage, including the interview.

Thanks for the help on this everyone! I called the number thats in the instructions for the g-325a and they said they can't tell me what to put on a form or application. Big help they where.
