Black students ordered to give up seats to white children

A new solution reached Monday by School Board officials has a black bus driver driving across town to pick up the nine black children.

segregation is the solution? I agree with Cian..fire the racist driver. What is the hold-up? Fire her immediately and get another driver. They are being cryptic about it too. Are they afraid the driver will sue?

this is 2006. now if that driver had been allowed to continue driving and making the black children go to the back of the bus you might say it was 1936. there will always be jerks and morons in this world, can't control that. it's how society reacts to these jerks and morons that defines us. that driver was indeed a moron and i'm sure has seen her last day of driving.

Probably the driver was a racist ####### trying to relive the racist glory days. But,

Devil's advocate: 3 of those children were foster kids (so perhaps they were more likely to be troubled or act in inappropriate ways due to a rocky past) and the other 2 kids were being raised by the same family. Perhaps it was just a family of very rowdy bad children, their only distinguishing characteristic being their race in what might have been a predominantly white area, and they were sent to the back for their behavior.

I really, really can't believe that this kind of ####### still goes on. Guess I'm glad I'm in Indiana. I've never seen anything like this.

What is the issue? Fire her #######. Get a new driver who isn't a scumbag. How hard is that?

From what I remember from bus riding days (it wasn't that long ago ) the bad kids typically flocked to the back of the bus, and would be separated or moved up to the front seat if they were misbehaving. They wouldn't typically move them together as a group to the back of the bus where they have even less control over them for bad behavior.

This is a truly awful story, what an awful woman, why on earth would she want to be a kids bus driver???! And they haven't fired her a*s????? Thats insane. I would kick up such a stomp if they did that to my children....

Or look at this another way. Perhaps there was some sort of a fight going on on the bus and 9 white kids were the cause and the driver wanted them near him so he could watch them. Maybe it was an all out racial war and the driver felt he needed to separate them. Given the racial makeup of that city, it wouldn't be suprising if there were only 9 whites on the bus.

In any case, I know one thing for sure. Local city newspapers have no regard for the entire story or the whole truth. My company was involved in a suit with a fanatical woman about ten years ago where she brought so much attention to her case it brought in newspapers and network news. They interviewed her, printed her story , and repeated it on television as if it were the gospel truth and I personally know she was lying. Not only was she lying, but she wouldn't allow us to prove she was lying and the news made no mention of our side of the story at all. Eventually this event became part of a larger national suit that involved congressional action- most of which backfired (as usual).

So, maybe this driver was just a racist, but maybe there's another side to it. Just don't go jumping to the conclusion that we need Al Sharpton back in Louisiana because of one local news story.
