2004 - we met online.

7th May 2007 - filed I-129 paperwork

9th June 2007 - received I-797 notice of action

13th November 2007 - I-129 approved

18th December 2007 Visa and medical interview

12th January 2008- Shipping company arrived

14th January 2008 - landed at Newark Airport.

9th March 2008 - got married(received SSI number)

April 2008 - My things arrived in USA from the UK

9th March 2009 - our 1st Anniversary

14th June 2009 - returned to the UK

9th March 2010 - our 2nd Anniversary - spent apart - so lonely :(

1st September 2010 - filed I-130 (applying for IR1)

11th Sept - Received I-797c address part C error

13th Sept - Resubmitted I-130

24th Sept 2010 received second I-797 NOA status - "initial review"

4th January 2011 - I-130 Approved - moving to NVC!

12th January 2011 - I-130 forwarded to NVC.

31st January 2011 - Notification of LDN number received in the post.

Congratulations or as we say in Finland Onneksi olkoon!

You have provided such important and valuable info to so many of us ( I just joined, before I was just reading other comments. What we have in common is that my husband filed an I-130 for me for the second time as I went to the consulate and gave up my green card when I thought we might divorce....Yeah...kinda hast... :innocent:

Anyway, congrats, you're done but hopefully not gone and will continue to give us info as we still struggle this hell called immigration. (Especially us transferred from CSC to TSC)My NO1 is July 8th.... :crying:

Yes, we both are in the same situation - second Green card. You would have approved by this time, if you were with VSC like me.

Still, you are not too far of this process now. Good luck!

During interview process, the questions might arise the reason to surrender the GC. So, prepare well and good luck! We had prepared the answers for it.

BUt anyways my question is what if i get pregnant and have a baby in my homeland Philippines, what will happen to the baby's citizenship? Can the baby acquire his father's citizenship (USC) or mine as a Filipino citizen coz the baby will be born in the Philippines?

You are in the same boat of mine as well for baby's situation :star:

By birth, baby will be Filipino citizen (Get Philippines birth certificate and all the child birth records in the hospital including original ultrasound scans etc.). Then, you can make the baby the U.S citizen if:

1) One or both the parents is/are USC when the baby is born (in your case, father is USC)

2) USC parent is based in the U.S for the last 5 years before the baby is born in any status including USC, LPR etc.

If you qualify, both parents must be present in the Manila Consulate (American Citizen Service - ACS) with the baby to apply CRBA (Consular Report of Birth Abroad). During this appointment, you can file CRBA and apply baby's US passport and SSN.

SSN is free. But there is a fee for CRBA and U.S passport. Also, check with your consulate if the appointment is needed. Some may be just walk-in as well.

In India, we had U.S birth certificate and US passport for our daughter in 1.5 months time, I think. But, SSN took few months to arrive. If you are not keen for SSN for any purpose including tax filing, you may apply SSN after reaching the U.S as well. It is very easy in the U.S.
