I wanted to go be there with my husband as well but the cost is too much and I also did not want to use up all my vacation...

A little update...my husband received his PC from Greece, had it transalated in in English and will bring it with him at the interview.

He got an email from the Consulate that he needs to bring in another birth certificate because the one we submitted was laminated and they do not accept anything laminated, also new passport pictures without his eye glasses on.

For the interview he will take copies of everything that was sent to USCIS and NVC plus our pictures, chat logs, telephone bills and letter he received from me. I hope that will be enough.

Everything else is going as sheduled... but plane tickets this time a year are a killer....:bonk:

Wooo hoooooooooo to everyone on this list!!!! I just thought, "Should I check the January interviews? Nah, I'm not on the list. I'll wait. Oh wait...YEAH I AM!"

I wish I could make my husband go get the silly letter from the Embassy so that we can schedule the medical and all of that good stuff. I hope he will do that tomorrow. I'll make him at least call and try to schedule a medical without the letter.

Jeez...I still have to have him print out all kinds of evidence and blah blah. Does anyone in here have their evidence package all ready? Is anyone in here going to be able to go to the interview with their spouse?

I will be flying to Lagos to be with my hubby that week. I don't think that I'll be allowed inside to attend the interview with him but I'm hoping that we'll have cause to celebrate when he's done! :)

I know this has been covered before, but I don't remember if there was a definitive answer, so am soliciting your opinions: how are you guys handling this?

In terms of secondary evidence, just how many pages of chat transcripts should I have her carry to the interview? I've just about got them put together in a single document, it is over 1500 pages long (we chat every day). Should edit it down, including only a short portion of each day? Or should I print it all, but four pages to a page, so the text is quite small? I'm a little worried about dumping too much paper on them and irritating them.

Obviously, we also have photographs of us together, lots of wedding pictures, Xoom receipts.

Thanks,

Jon

Aww man Kim! Again?!?! :crying: :crying: :crying: Has the NVC sent your case to the Embassy yet? If so, you can always try calling them an trying to get a date out of them. Or sending an expedite to the NVC.

Wow Jon! That is a bunch of stuff. I'd separate in to piles in a file folder so that if they want to see certain things, they can. Chances are they won't look at much if anything at all. It is always better to take more than you need though :)

What is the best way to organize tons of paper documentation in an orderly way for my husband to bring to the interview? I originally envisioned a large loose-leaf binder with dividers to put it all in, but there's a concern that the metal rings in the binder won't allow it through the metal detectors for the interview. The Mead binders with plastic rings are too small. So I'm just wondering what the best way is to bring all the supporting documentation. I don't want my husband fumbling to find something if asked.

Suggestions, anyone?

I sent my wife everything in a 2" binder. I arranged the documents in the same order that I sent them to USCIS & NVC. I used index tabs to separate everything.

When your wife goes through the metal detector, tell her to tell the guards that this is the documents that she have to present at the interview. I assume that they will open it up to see/verify what it is & then let it through. That is what my wife is planning on doing.

Thanks,

Jon

My wife and I chat every day as well as send at least one email a day. What I did was print a picture showing the listing of the daily logs and email entries and then show just a page for a couple of chats/month and a couple of emails/month. That is still a lot of stuff. I am figuring it will cost my wife about $100.00 US dollars on printing out evidence.

Don't forget to send copies of your boarding passes.

As far as dumping material on the interviewer have your wife keep the stuff organized at her side and then just give the interviewer what he specifically asks for.
