 i just finished talking to my husband and i made me tell me what happened in his interview from start to finish. he was a hot mess the days before his interview. but after the whole process, he said it was so easy he thought it was too good to be true!.. anyways here's his story:

When Robby, my husband, arrived to the embassy he stood in the long time waiting to get in. there was an elderly couple with their daughter in front on him. The guard didn't let the daughter enter to accompany her parents to their interview. The elderly lady needed assistance with walking so my husband helped the couple to their destination. He said he was a little late getting a number because the couple walked very slow. After being a good Samaritan he finally got a number and waited for his name to be called. The first person he spoke to was in the window and he was a friendly filipino man. he asked what my husbands name was, his address, how he and i met and he asked for the DS-230 forms. my husband supplied the form and the gentleman asked about our previous K1 petition. my husband said it doesn't apply anymore since we are now married. the guy said ya you are right and asked him to sit down. good thing i had a prepped my husband the night before the interview and i told him the needed packages to submit (AOS and IV packets) Robby said he was a little confused why the guy didn't ask for the packets. good thing he asked and the guy was a little surprised when my husband showed him. the guy even made a comment, saying his documents are complete. he even asked who arranged the packet and robby said my wife. the guy told him i did a great job with having the documents complete. my husband handed him the AOS packet, our Co-sponsors AOS packet and the IV packet. the guy asked what the name of our co-sponsor was. Robby said Aurora Walker, which is correct. then the guy was like, so she's related to Luke. my husband was like HUH! he was thinking of all our relatives name and none of them was Luke. The guy started laughing and he was like, im sorry, im just kidding about the Luke, u know Luke Sky Walker. and he joked that it was cool that our co sponsor was from star wars cuz of her last name..haha the next step was to pay the IV fee so he was called to the cashier window. he only had $400 and he asked the lady if it was OK to pay the balance of $4.00 in pesos. the lady instructed him to go to the money exchange across the street to exchange his pesos to dollars. buying dollars is more expensive because the $5 costs 250 pesos. 50 pesos to 1 dollar. thats how they make money haha. anyway, after paying the IV fee he sat and waited again. The next person he spoke to was an African American gentleman. Robby said he was very friendly had a smile on his face all throughout the process. The guy took his fingerprints. After waiting for so minutes again, he was finally called into one of the rooms. the CO was a Caucasian male, friendly and straight to the point. He asked my husband his name, the petitioners name, he asked about the K1 petition and he asked what i did for a living. he didn't ask Robby anything about our wedding so robby showed him the pictures. he quickly glanced at it and handed it back to my husband without going through them. robby said he just started stamping the papers but he was too shy to ask if he passed or not. so after leaving the room, he asked one of the people in the window and they informed him that he passed. he filled up the 2GO delivery form and met up with my mother-in-law that was waiting outside. overall Robby said it was an easy process, so nothing to worry about. If u know your spouse well, you should be ok.

i booked his flight for feb 13, MNL to LAX with Philippine airlines nonstop flight. we're just now waiting for the visa to arrive so he can go to the CFO seminar. we also need a copy of his visa to show the travel agency so they can give him the new immigrant ticket price :D

we're both extremely happy! God is sooo good! congratulations to those that have passed! our journey to be with our loved ones is almost over! (L) (L) (L)

Thanks so much, everyone, for all your congrats! we are absolutely ecstatic! Here are the details, as promised: (I'll post in the Consulate review section later)

Consulate & Interview Review:

We got there at about 6:20 a.m. on Jan. 26th and there was already a long queue outside.

At around 6:45, the line started moving. I was able to enter the sitting area and wait with my husband together with all the other visa applicants (immigrant and non-immigrant alike).

When the applicants were called to go through security and enter the Embassy, I was asked to please leave. I went inside the Embassy via the ACS (American Citizens Services) entrance and waited for my husband to finish (while sitting in the air conditioned lobby :)

I waited about 3 hours before he came out and found me in the lobby. He had a big smile on his face and gave me a thumbs-up sign!

This is his review:

He was interviewed by a young, blonde, white American male CO with sideburns and a mustache.

CO: who is petitioning for u?

Seyi: My wife - Deborah......

CO: Where does she live?

Seyi: (tells him my exact address and City/State)

CO: What does she do for a living?

Seyi: Computers

CO: Has she ever been married before?

Seyi: Yes

CO: Have you ever been married before?

Seyi: No

CO: When did you meet?

Seyi: June 2008

CO: How did you meet?

Seyi: Through a mutual friend.

CO: Tell me more.

Seyi: My best friend and business partner has a sister that lives in New York and the sister met my wife through work. They've been friends for several years now.

CO: Does your wife have kids? How many? What are their names and ages?

Seyi: (Gives the correct answer)

CO: How old is your wife?

Seyi: (tells him my age)

CO: How old are you?

Seyi: (tells him his age)

CO: Do you plan to have kids?

Seyi: Yes. She's being treated by a fertility doctor who assured us that she can still have a child. I have a letter from the doctor confirming what I'm saying. Would you like to see it?

CO: (doesn't answer; just types something into computer)

CO: How many times has your wife been to Nigeria?

Seyi: Yesterday made the number of trips 6 times and she's outside right now waiting for me in the Lagos heat (hubby didn't know that I managed to get into the air conditioned lobby!)

CO: Surprised, says "6 times???"

Seyi: (nods head)

CO: (types some more stuff into the computer)

CO then walks away for a minute and then comes back with a letter that he hands to Seyi that states that he can pick up his visa next week on Feb. 2nd at the VFS Global office in Lekki. The CO then returned all the original documents to my husband without even being asked (which were already bundled together with a rubber band around them). The whole interview didn't take more than 5 minutes.

By the way, we brought about 12 inches thick worth of paperwork and over 400 photos. He didn't ask to see anything!

Call the embassy and inquire about your case.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering how long things have taken in the past?? I see most ppl get their visa in about 1 week, according to their timelines.

Wife tells me last time she was on hold for an hour before she got an answer to her question. at 2.40 euro/minute I think she'll wait for the 2 week mark before she calls with questions.

It is worrying, though...
