I have a question...How do you know when your case has been recieved by the Embassy? I am a little confused, I see in peoples posts dates from which the embassy recieved their cases, but when I asked NVC how I can know, they told me there is no way. Being my case was exepidited, I have to wait until it is recieved for the Embassy to schedual the interview, and I was told to contact them directly after the package was recieved, but not told on how to figure out it was ever recieved. please hellpp :bonk::help:

Gonza- Track DHL packages sent from the date that NVC says that they sent it out. For example, if they said they sent it Dec 23rd then use that date for tracking. Once you have the tracking number, you can find out when it arrives in Lima. Our case was expedited as well and it took a few days to get to the embassy. Then it took the embassy a few days to have any information about our case (more like a week).

Here is the website to use: http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef

and use this as the guide for the date it was sent: example: Dec 23rd: EXP 23 DEC 2010A

You can always try a day before and after the day that the NVC gave you.

I hope this is helpful :)

Teya- Wow! Everythings easy once you know! Thank you so much!!! Did the Embassy contact you once it was recieved, or did you have to contact them for an interview date as NVC is explaining to do??

I wonder also if anyone knows...Does the Embassy schud. expetited interview dates on a case by case timeline or would all be roughly in the same timeframes??

Sorry for all the questions! :( Thank you for all the help!! :D

I had my husband call the Embassy the whole week that they received our case and they never had any information. It wasn't until I wrote them an e-mail that they gave me an interview date :) Maybe you will have more luck though.

I think that the Embassy schedules expedited cases based on the reason for the request. If your request was due to something urgent, they aren't going to make you wait a month if they can possibly squeeze you in. The reason I think that is because in Sept there was a case that was expedited and the Peruvian had an interview date like 4 days after when her case was received at the USE. I don't know what her expedite reasons were though. Mine was a month after and my reasons well..I never technically asked for an expedite. So I think that is why mine wasn't treated as urgent. :)

I think that based off of your time line, the USE might have your case already or will receive it tomorrow. What did the DHL tracker say? If they have the case, you might need to wait a day or two for the USE to have info. If they have it already, you can always try calling tomorrow :)

That makes alot of sence!

Well the tracker shows it departed miami on 12/31 so they should have it tommorow or the next day.

I sent them an email on the 29th when NVC said it was sent because initally NVC said they would send it electronically because of the expedite, but it was by paper mail. USEM replied they would schedual an interview as soon as it was received, but from what your saying, I think I will send another email after DHL shows it as delievered.

ITS amost impossible to get real info from them my phone...My huband and I have had so many negative experiances in past years with the Embassy there, I hope this is a much better one!!!

Good luck on your interview this week!!!!! :)

Btw are you going to the interview with your husband?? Due to medical reasons I cant fly to Lima, I hope it wouldnt hurt our case...

Thanks, we will need all of the luck we can get :) I wish I could go to the interview with him but sadly that isn't the case. Fortunately Lima isn't a place where the presence or absence of the spouse decides your outcome. So don't worry about that part :)
