Hmm. For those of you that are discussing God.

1) I lit a candle I think yesterday from that site.

2) Not only do I pray, and believe it is in his hands, but we say prayer together each day (often multiple times) together. I say our prayers before ending each conversation.

3) I know that PART of this holdup was a blessing. It allowed us to learn even more an get closer to one another. We also learned how much we need each other and will not let anything stand in the way of us being together. It also shows our dedication to one another. So, it wasnt all bad.

As for now, we have been through this and learned what we believe we were supposed to. At this point, yes we are at Gods mercy. We to ask for this so that we can forever be together soon. I of course include the other marchers in the prayers now. Now it just seems to be when the time is right, the prayer will be answered.

Wolf

I am a lapsed catholic but do not begrudge anyone their prayers.

But truly, you are the mercy of gov't, NOT God.

I wish you well.

Yeah, seriously. There are reasons this process is slow (especially for people with a previous K1) and they don't have anything to do with some god. There are people controlling this.

. I no longer seem to have any expectations other than if I check my email, for it to be empty. No touches in over a month also.

oh do I hear you there.

I was despondently checking with my hand hovering over the log out button before I 'd even read it, assuming there would be nothing. I actually squeaked in surprise this morning when I saw the update asusming it was a touch but was an approval. I must have checked it 3 times in case it was a mistake. Even my fiance said "are you sure????" how sad is that. Im kind of glad I got a shot gun approval though. Another flurry of touching would have had me obsessing over thinking they were plotting my next RFE. Hopefully you'll get the same.

There was a time when I checked the pc constantly waiting for my email notification. I saw a wave of people getting approved over a month ago and that got my hopes up that at any moment, or any day I would have mine. Now it seems that was a fluke and CSC is on strike. I no longer seem to have any expectations other than if I check my email, for it to be empty. No touches in over a month also. Hardly any approvals on here.

Basically, I know it will eventually come. But I dont really expect it anytime soon after having my hopes up and crushed so many times.

(so glad I am going to see her. It helps with this)

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you that have had to wait so long to get your approval. Our journey has only started and I keep telling my fiancée that we just have to be patient and understand that this is all in God’s hands now. Having worked and been in the government for so long it makes me want to just sigh to think of some lazy GS-9 clerk sitting on their a$$ right now with their coffee cup sitting on some persons file while he/she is reading stock quotes on the MSNBC web site. I think someone at USCIS needs start getting some answers on why they are not cranking out NOA2’s.

I hope my visit next month will help with the inevitable wait that we have before us. Wolf just remember what my daddy use to tell me when I wanted something really bad and I couldn’t have it… Son wish in one hand and piss in the other… now which one do you think will fill up first? LOL

I think that sometimes we need to get to the end of ourselves so that we realize none of this is really up to us, that we don't have any control over it. It is then that we turn to the Lord and just ask Him for Mercy and that He will help us. This is all that we could do in our own waiting, which was not nearly as long as yours..."Lord please help our friend Wolf and grant Him an approval in the next couple of days"

Rob and Melinda

Wolf, when we put our trust in the world, we always end up disappointed. And putting our trust in government bureaucracy is downright laughable! It's material for a stand-up comedy routine! But when you put your trust in God, you're reminded that the same loving father who took care of you yesterday will continue to look after you today. He may have put your visa on pause just to remind you of this.

You can go light a candle

Rather than praying for yourselves or friends, can you invoke the Lord to send all the USCIS workers into high gear, or have the government make the process more transparent. That would help everybody. But if you do have some influence there, what I would want most is WORLD PEACE and no more poverty and suffering. They can take as long as they want with my K1 if I could have that.

I just have a hard time with people putting their trust in God for THEIR situation to work out. If it does, it's because God helped them, if it doesn't it's because God had a different plan, and maybe wanted them to wait a little longer just for their own good somehow.

Since God can do anything AND nothing, that really cancels any influence out. And I'm sure He has a lot to do besides worrying about US. So why not at least save the power of God for things that REALLY matter.

I know it makes us feel better to have some all-knowing higher force to save us from having to think about all the impossible inequities in life. Inequities right here, and inequities everywhere.

It just is not LOGICAL. Random inequities exist that there is NO explanation for.

I have nothing against people having private faith of whatever sort helps them get through life. But why do you have to keep bouncing your faith against other people, like a sort of insecurity that needs outer reinforcement. Join with the "good" people, dehumanize the "bad" people, and you got the seeds planted for war right there.

So why am I bothering to post this? I don't know. I've just heard some of these lines one too many times.

If you want comfort in your waiting, I suggest thinking about people living in other parts of the world, such as Iraq and Lebanon, with family members dead, wounded and dying, or families of soldiers fighting in the Iraq war separated by multiple, indefinite tours. We can wait.

Wolf - I know how you feel. Let's see, now I'm at about 170 days. For the last 3 weeks I've been checking several times a day. Every week I think, "I really should hear something this week." Every day I check USCIS and, as far as I can tell, there is nothing, zilch, nada, going on. No touches, no emails, nothing. The only thing I got from them was a message that me password was expiring and to change it. That's it. Good luck to all of us "oldies" who are waiting for an approval. This has to be the slowest process in the history of mankind.

Hey, dont take it I'm giving up on us. No way I could ever do that. She is everything. I am giving up on my expectations that the CSC will accomidate my desire to be with her permanately anytime within the foreseeable future. Hense, the ticket to visit. Actually when I do eventually see noa2, I am sure I will be so shocked I will not believe it is not a joke to start with

With all that said, for some reason, I feel less stress...gotta be the trip coming up. Or maybe not having to feel guilty each time I talk to her that I have no news?

I know I am fortunate, in that I can see my sweetie fairly regularly, so the time this process takes is not as difficult in that regard. In terms of plans and leases and job notice for me, it is an irritation, but not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things.

Just wanted to say that I really hope those of you who are separated by great distances and have been waiting a long time, get some positive news soon. I can't imagine having to go months and months apart. :(

Oh yea: Senator 'dont call back before 9/11' and Congressmen 'call back after 9/22'. We know that the 800# dont really give any results so I have tried, believe me. I am sure the senators office will love the letter sent to them regarding their apathy.

Wolf

Wolf, my NOA1 receipt date is February 13th and my NOA1 date is March 10th. I was told not to call back until the end of september. When I went to Algeria for 2 months I expected an approval within that time. Now i'm back and not able to go back any time soon. Still waiting.
