I just got back from my interview today in Downtown LA. I will post details very soon ASAP. BUT...I had the easiest, quickest most laid back interview ever and the guy who interviewed me was so nice. It felt like chit chatting over Turkish coffee not an actual interview. Good luck for those waiting, Details soon :)

So here is how my interview went :thumbs: :thumbs: :

My appointment was at 9 15 AM downtown LA. I got there around 8 30. Line outside the building was very short, but people ahead of me took forever to go through security since they kept beeping. I finally got to the basement room where the interview was around 8 45 AM. I dropped off my interview letter at window number 4 and had a seat. People were called in very quickly. My name was finally called around 9 40. It was a serious looking old Filipino man who greeted me and told me to follow him to his office. He looked so serious to me, made me kinda nervous. He introduced himself, told me to raise my right hand to swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth. He told me to answer his questions only by YES or NO and ONLY that. He looked very serious saying that. He then proceeded with the application questions. He chose around 4 or 5 yes/no questions only from the application to ask me. He started by If “I like people of all colors”, if “I’m a communist or terrorist” and if I am willing to fight in the US army if needed and If I am willing to fight “even against Iran”. I am not Iranian, so I don’t know why he asked me that, but I smiled and I answered by YES. He then started with the Civics questions and he told me that I should pass since a 7th grade student knows the answers. He asked me only 4 questions not 6. 1- Who is the speaker of the House? 2- For how many years we elect the president? 3- When was the declaration of independence adopted 4- What is the longest river in the United States? When I answered “ Mississippi” he was like “Everybody gives me this answer!” I was like “ok, Missouri” he said “good Kid”, and then he was calling “Kid” during the whole interview. And then he asked me about my star sign and he said he was the same and made me guess his age, I wanted to be nice so I said mid 50s, then he was like “No Kid, I m old enough to be your grandpa”. He loosened up and became totally different person telling me he’s been with his wife for 45 years now and he still likes beautiful women…after chatting about couple issues not related to the interview, :ot: :ot: :ot: he asked me to help him with the photocopying machine, funny. I helped him print oath letters for other people and he told me that mine should be in the mailbox in 2 to 3 weeks! At the photocopier, he told me I was approved and that the oath ceremony for may 26 in LA Convention Center is full so I have to wait until June 30 for my oath. Then He was like “Well at least you’re done with us, I’m sure you are glad you won’t see us anymore”. I said “yea”, we shook hands and he led me out.

It was a very easy and entertaining interview; I didn’t expect to laugh out loud several times at my naturalization interview :lol: :lol: :lol: . That was it, in 20-25 minutes or so I was out. Great experience, now waiting for my oath letter. :dance: :dance: :dance:

Hi, i guess its better late than never. I just received my interview letter last saturday (5/7). interview is set on 6/13 1pm...

I am thinking i won't be one of the lucky ones to have same day oath in Atlanta since my appointment is in the afternoon...

July 2002 - Enrolled in school, obtained F1 Visa

Sept 2007 - Married

Nov 2007 - File for GC

Feb 2008 - Interview - approved

Mar 2008 - received 2 year conditional GC.

11/30/2009 - Applied for ROC

12/15/2009 - received NOA, NOA date 12/10/2009

1/15/2010 - FP appointment

1/17/2010 - LUD

4/18/2010 - Previous I765 LUD

It's different for every center. For me in Hartford, oath appt letters were already printed with date and centers. A friend of mine from NJ had interview and oath on the same day.

Huge grats!!! Probably another 2-3 months here for us since Atlanta is so slow. Going to feel great though...I know it!!!
