N 400 December 2010 applications

Hello,

I had my interview today in Orlando.

Here is the recap:

My interview was scheduled at 11:30am. I got there at 10:30am so I decided to wait until 10:50am to go into the building. When I walked in, I had to pass security. I had to take off my belt and he checked me with a metal detector even though I did not beep when I walked through.

So, when I went through security I had to drop my interview letter at a designated window and sit down. A few minutes later an Immigration Officer came and called my name.

As soon as we walked into his office he asked me to raise my right hand and had me swear the Truth and only the Truth.

I sat down and he asked me to write the following sentence: - The President lives in the White House. - and started to talking to me and asking questions. Not the civil questions but questions from my N400. Name, middle name., etc.

He also asked questions like what do I think about Kadafi and the current Terrorist issues. I really found it strange since I am from Europe however I considered as part of the English test. I smiled and gave only diplomatic answers. It was really strange though.

He went through me entire N400 step-by-step. For all the questions what I gave he made a note. He asked me about my US born daughters if they are dual citizens or only Americans..etc Strange-strange

On the end of the N400 he asked me if I would bear arm for the country.

When he finished he started to ask me the civic questions:

1) Who is one of your state's U.S. Senators now?

2) What is one promise you make when you become a United States citizen?

3) Who was the first President?

4) What movement tried to end racial discrimination?

5) Where is the Statue of Liberty?

6) Name two national U.S. holidays.

I answer for all the questions correctly so he told me that I passed and he is recommending me. He stamped my application with an APPROVED stamp.

He asked me if I want to take the Oath of this Friday. I told him - Sure, so I am scheduled for 10:00am on this Friday and asked me to wait for my Oath letter since no time to mail it. I went outside and 20 minutes later they called my name and gave me the Oath letter for this Friday.

I found my interview a little odd based on what I have been reading but All the cases and IO's are different.

I am really happy to be over this roller coaster and wish everyone good luck on their journey.

Congratulations on passing batkamano60, and having your oath so soon too. It does seem a bit odd but I guess each IO is different...you're done! Celebrate :dance:

Thank you N400-2011.

The IO was super nice though. Friendly and really nice. I just wasn't very comfortable with the questions.

I guess this is not about comfort. :-)

Does not matter, I am over with it. YEAH! Cannot believe it. :thumbs:

I am an American!

Yay! I had my Oath today! I cannot believe it. It is finally over.

Can someone please update my Oath (Apr. 22) and highlight me red? Thank you!
