URGENT:

Our interview (Manila, Philippines) was moved to Dec 17.

Upon reviewing our document list, do we need an ORIGINAL copy of the petitioner's Birtch Certificate? We have a certified TRUE XEROX COPY, from the Staistics Office.

Also these:

1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1 Y

1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 2 Y

Are these needed? Is this the I-130?

Thank you for your prompt answers. Appreciate it.

The IV (part 1 & 2) is theDS 230 form.

http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/81807.pdf

The I130 was approved and you have no future dealings with it as its used at the USCIS level.

The case must be published with the original copy.. in many cases the cert. copy is accepted as long as it has the raised seal and was issued by the governing body.

That's probably a copy from the Local Civil Registry. What you need is the original NSO issued birth certificate, printed on NSO security paper (SECPA). You can get this directly from NSO or you can request for it via phone and have it delivered to your home. http://www.citizenservices.com.ph

You need to fill-up a new DS-230 form (Immigrant Visa Application). Sign part 1 only. Download DS-230 (part 1 & 2) here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/forms/forms_1342.html

Thank you apple21. Good thing we checked again, and that the interview date was moved on the 17th. Gave us a little bit of time.

Yes, i received a fon call regarding the reschedulling they made. I emailed the embassy and even called them to know what to bring regarding that new schedule. They told me that we STILL need to bring the APPOINTMENT LETTER we received from NVC. All applicants that were scheduled on May 13 are AUTOMATICALLY set on May 17. So no need to worry about it. Just show the May 13 interview appointment at the embassy and it will be ok. Though the embassy sent me an email that shows my sched was moved to May 17.

As for checklist of what i have prepared:

New NBI

New local police cert

Marriage cert

CEMAR

Birth certificates (mine and my baby's)

2012 ITR

2012 W2

Hubby's employment letter

Copy of AOS (the one we sent to NVC) though we prepared a new one (just in case they will ask me to submit a new one)

Waiting for Visa to be avialable

In behalf of my family, we would like to thank the VJ community especially the Dec 2010 filers for the endless support for everyone. It paid off immensely and our Visa Application was approved without any trouble.

This how the process went today, Manila time.

Interview time: 6:15am

My wife and son, together with my mother in law, got inside the embassy.

She (my wife) said the embassy has a new layout or something, but a lot better than before.

They checked the documents but only asked for the Certificate of No Marriage, Birth Certificates, and NBI clearance. Make sure you have new copies.

W2 and 2012 ITR are important. Took a glance at our photos.

Then on to the biometrics. Took a while because my wife has thin fingerprints, hard to get an image.

Then inside the waiting area, where the interview will be conducted. The kid loved to run around. Wife kept running after him. They went outside to buy some snack. Our number was called and she didn't hear the calls. The Filipino consul wasn't so happy about that, but no problem. Took a look at our documents. She asked the following questions:

"When did you meet?"

"How old is your husband?" "How old are you?" "How many times were you married?" (maybe a trick question), "When did you meet?" "How many children do you have?", "What's your husband's birth date?" " When did your husband leave for the US?" "How was he able to go there?", these questions were asked repeatedly, in random. Maybe waiting for her to say a mistake in the facts. Asked if have phone calls, remittances, etc. But said it's okay, did not bother to see them.

After the questioning by the Filipino Consul Officer, after 15-20 minutes it's time for the US Consul.

Not even a minute went. Just took her biometrics, made to raise her hand and promise to say the truth.

"Your Visa has been approved, you may sit down outside and wait to be called at the other window."

The American consul did not ask her any question! Great!

An embassy staff gave her a piece of paper, filled it up and was told to go to 2GO, a delivery company. Did not pay anything.

Thank you all for the help! We deeply appreciate it. And good luck to those who are still waiting, your time will come.

Just make sure you cover all the bases and ready all the documents and proofs of relationship.
