hi we are on the same track - they said that f2a filers - are spouses of permanent residents and it took years to have visa approval. - is it true?

Hi there! Just want to know what is NVC Received? Is that the package that the NVC will send to the beneficiary once approved? Do u have your case number already?

Hey wassup.. That person is my brother. he comes on here every one and then since he is 15. Yes it is true currently it is taking a few years to receive a visa.

NVC received seems to be the date the case was received from USCIS. The member already have their case number see this time line

It depends upon your PD. (Am i correct Ricardo?) So stay updated with the Visa Bulletin. :-)

I have a Question. So every case that we were tracking were approved EXCEPT one. As we all move into the NVC stage... is someone willing to create a NVC thread where we will ALL follow or will we all use this thread to continue/complete the process.?

Go to USCIS website (www.uscis.gov) and check your case status then create an account for the case updates. You can enable to receive case updates via e-mail

I did some browsing on some threads here at visajourney. To find out, there are LPRs filed I-130 for spouses, etc, whom approval notice (NOA2) took them years! Should I say members of this thread are lucky enough to have our approval average of 5mos! Or is it the old processing time that before it was really years to count before you get approval?

If enacted, it will reclassify spouses and minor children of lawful permanent residents as immediate relatives, thus eliminating the numerical limits that they are currently subject to. The bill has 74 cosponsors and is pending before the House Judiciary Committee.

No....! he MUST He MUST petition for your daughter, his step daughter... do is NOW.. or she will NOT be able to come with you.. she will be left back in your home country.. please do it now.. it is also mentioned on the form's instructions (i130)

Under this page it says:

If You Were an LPR and Are Now a U.S. Citizen: Upgrading a Petition

If you filed a petition for your spouse and/or minor children when you were a lawful permanent resident (LPR), and you are now a U.S. citizen, you must upgrade the petition from family second preference (F2) to immediate relative (IR). You can do this by sending proof of your U.S. citizenship to the National Visa Center (NVC). You should send:

A copy of the biodata page of your U.S. passport; or

A copy of your certificate of naturalization

Important Notice: If you upgrade a family second preference (F2) petition for your spouse and you did not file separate petitions for your minor children when you were a LPR, you must do so now. A child is not included in an immediate relative (IR) petition. (This is different from the family second preference (F2) petition, which includes minor children in their parent's F2 petition.)

Am I correct that since my husband is a permanent resident and we are under F2a category, according to this article, my daughter is included in my petition? PLEASE HELP ME INTERPRET THIS IF I GOT IT WRONG. Thanks

Until about June 2010 the average case with USCIS would be processed in 2-4 years.. yes.. !
