Does the petitioner have to use full name for k1 visa petition? (forms, letter of intent, etc).

He is a naturalized US citizen and even though he only uses one name and one last name, in his naturalization certificate appears full name.

Thanks,

Thanks,

yes. It is his full LEGAL name and that's what needs to be on the forms.

Thanks,

When a form asks a question, it must be answered truthfully and accurately. Names can be changed but the questions refer to current legal name.

Do you have to use your full name in a important and significant application? No, of course not. Heck, it's preferable if you use a nickname. One can even make the case that going with the name of "Batman" is the best way to go.

OK maybe not. Yes, you should use your full name.

Sarcasm is not useful on a website where for some english is not the first language. They may assume you are being truthful.

OP - please disregard the above, s/he was joking.

Look, I know in USA people only use first and last name. EXCUSE me for being confuse about it because he is a US citizen.

Thanks for the time you took to "HELP". The forum should give you a promotion or something for being so eager to cooperate.

Fair enough. You are correct, my post was not very helpful. I tried to be obvious that it was in jest but perhaps it came across poorly. For that I apologize.

Anyhow, the first reply answered your question. In forms such as the ones used for the K1, full legal names are to be used. :)

Ok, I understand the question more clearly now. It is true in the USA for the most part we use only our fathers last name. But if his paperwork has his fathers and mothers last name, use them both on the application. Que tengan mucho suerte!!
