Mate of mine got a denial in his interview today because of an over stay last time he was out in America with his wife, anyone out there had simular experiences with positive results through a waiver? the reason I say through a waiver is because his wife is not too well so he had the wisdom to back up with a waiver in case of a denial but right now my friend is in bits because he got denied and I'm looking for something up beat from someone who might have been through the same thing... anyone out there?

Poor Richi! :( He has a waiver expedition in progress though, hopefully that will solve this situation.

This makes me worried though... there was a time I may have overstayed by like ... 1 hour :P ,, but when I visited a few months after that.. I was approved for entry just fine..

Oh it's not Richi? I really hope it isn't.

This may be a stupid question, I really don't think I ever overstayed, if I did,.. it would have only been.. by about 30 minutes or so lol! Since I was granted entry on the next visit .. I'm guessing it's all ok. Is it likely this will ultimately affect my interview?

Well, I overstayed a few times ---ughhh and they kept letting me in, but, I think it will be picked up when they check the passport details. So, we'll be prepared.

I've never been entirely sure on this.... are you supposed to leave no later than the date stamped on the visa waiver card, or is it the day before that you need to leave? My last visit, the date stamped to leave was September 8th. I left September 7th .... not sure if I stayed 89 days or 90 days... because if you count the day I arrived (June 10th) up till September 7th... it's 90 days in total... confusing

I think it's the day stamped on your card. If it was stamped the 8th, and you left on the 8th you'll be fine. good.gif

It has to be 180 days plus to get a ban.
