Hi,

I just noticed some have had home investigations going through Islamabad Embassy. My husband had his interview in December 2004, was denied and filed I601 & I212 May 12, 2005 after waiting for fingerprint clearance to be completed. (We have approved I130) I am told each time I call that it's in administrative processing, its moving right along, only 1-2 more months, on and on, same excuses each time. He has never had any home visit.

Can you please give me more details on this? What exactly do they do? I am not worried, I just wish they would do a home visit; maybe that would speed up our waiver process. I also heard this adjudicating female officer is just awful from another couple who also filed waivers and went to the Embassy a few wks ago and actually spoke to this woman officer. She was horrible.

They tell you waivers take 6-8 months but they are taking a yr or more. On their website they say waivers are processed in 30 days or less,,,what a joke. They have never been accurate in any information they have given us. NONE. I think they are one of the worst places to deal with.

I can only tell you from our experience. We had interview on Dec 12th 2005 and told our case just needed some more processing. We called and checked on the status thru DOS and was always told it is at the embassy and being processed.

Then on January 17, 2006 my husband was not home and got a call from a brother to come home. The embassy had sent an official to talk to the family on our marriage. They were at the home for over one hour and then went to his sisters home as well. Looked at all wedding pics, and talked to persons that attended the ceremony. Field investigations can be triggered by the job, where they live in countries and to verify the information on the visa application.

I call DOS and try and contact the embassy and we are told no updates on our case since his interview. We cannot find out anything it is very secretative on their AP and or AR cases. I wish I could tell you more but I know of a few others that were field investigated and were never told any more. One case went to AR and is approved but she is pursuing a CR 1 visa now. Other is man that was trying to come on family visa.

My husband has never traveled outside his country and has no records of crimes. I really wish I could tell you more. I know the field officer that did the visit says he has a stack each week and travels one week and then returns to Islamabad to turn in the files. Good luck and do not know of waivers approved out of Islamabad now. Two cases on here besides yours from last spring/summer and still not approved. Good luck.

Mary
