Here is my story:

I have been employed by an American company for 2 years, but working in Canada. Since my POE a month ago, I have been on a leave of absence. However, my company needs me to return to work asap since I am the only person who speaks French and therefore I am the only one who can perform certain tasks. They provided me with a letter explaining that my being out of work for any period of time creates a hardship for them.

Two weeks ago, I called USCIS and spoke with someone about expediting my EAD and have since received an email asking me for evidence, which I provided. Last week, I made an appointment through Info Pass to speak to someone here in NC about expediting; that appointment is tomorrow morning. I also contacted my congresswoman, but have yet to hear back.

My question is this: is there anything that the person I speak to tomorrow can do for me or would I just be wasting my time? Is there anything else that I can do to expedite things? Work is piling up and we're losing contracts because of this situation.

Thanks!

Why don't they hire an interpreter in the interim? Then they're less likely to lose contracts... They're not paying you (I assume) so it's not a waste of money to pay someone else temporarily until you're able to commence work again.

On the Infopass front, yes, the person at the infopass can tell you whether they can approve your expedited EAD. I believe they can tell you then and there about it. However you won't get the EAD there, you'll end up waiting a couple of weeks to get the actual card as well. Have you done biometrics yet?

** moved from "Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from Family Based Visas" to " Working & Traveling During US Immigration" as this is relating to an EAD **

They have thought of doing that, but I'm an instructor on the road on top of doing customer support, so that wasn't an option. I haven't done my biometrics yet and don't even have the appointment letter! My other concern is that in order to get an appointment, I had to choose "other information" on the website as there were no dates available for the correct one for my case. I'm hoping that it won't be an issue,
