Lol. Australia doesn't even bother looking at that stuff. I personally did edit out the "sexy stuff" but they didn't even ask for any of it (which actually kinda bugged me, spent the whole night before making sure I didn't send in anything... "suss").

I did actually ask my interviewer if he wanted to see the chat logs and he said no he didn't and laughed that he didn't want to know what we said to each other. I said "don't worry, I editted out anything suss" and he said good because some people actually bring in photos of them having sex thinking it will help make their case more solid... he said it makes it look more suspicious that they think they need to go to those lengths... again this is for Australia. We're one of the "special" countries.. we're low fraud so it's not as hard as some consulates. So even if there WAS sexy stuff, they don't necessarily take that to mean relationship evidence, scammers have sex with their marks sometimes too.

Best of luck :)

I'm going to send in the I-129f in Feb. We have no chat logs at all. Will this be a problem? We do have tons of emails. Also we talk on the phone a lot. Also use Yahoo Messenger and Skype for 3 to 6 hours every day. We have many other forms of communication available so typing chats to each other makes no sense when we can pick up a phone to talk or video call each other. What do you think about this? Thanks.

Mike

Does anyone know if not having any chat logs will be a problem?

Probably not if you have some other evidence of long distance, long term communication. However, I am no expert on this!

i didn't send any chat logs or emails or anything of that nature, and got the noa2 with no RFE. just sent about 3 pages of phone records from vonage where i was able to just search out the calls to and from my fiance, so just 3 pages of about 8 months worth of hour long calls nightly, lol.

We have just put in the skype log that shows when we called on what dates for how long. I didnt focus much on logs because they dont actually prove we met, so focussed more on boarding passes, passport stamps, luggage claims, visa reciepts from hen we stayed in london a couple nights (i paid for hotel, ashley paid for food there)

But if i as using logs, i think id jut send in a page each month and pick pages which show a half decent conversation.

However, i do believe more and more, that there are no right and wrongs, its just totally luck.

chat logs etc are not needed for the petition stage. Proof of having met is required for the petition. Proof of ongoing relationship (chat logs, or skype logs, or MSN, or phone records etc...however you communicate).. is for the interview

This isn't for the K1 petition, this is for the interview where proof of ongoing relationship is required. For the petition only proof of having met in person in the last 2 years is required.

Again. Not about the petition, this post is about the interview stage. I think some people are getting confused by others posting qn's in this topic when they are not the OP.

in the interview stage, considering your fiance/e is from a high fraud country, you are going to need evidence of all sort

Thanks for the responses and advice everyone. Probably best to have as much evidence as possible just in case. I guess we'll have to start chatting now too. Will have plenty of time while waiting for USCIS to approve the K1 petition.

My apologies to the OP and anyone else thrown off track by my questions. I should have created a new thread. But I do appreciate you taking the time to help me out. Thanks

At work I filtered emails from Jerry which displayed 25 pages of just the subject line....I thought that would work as evidence ...

Then I had all the photos - some going back 22 years...some recent....

Then I had all the little cards he had sent me....plus the ones that were on the flowers or balloons etc...not to mention the one sent with the chocolate that was waiting for me in sydney

I also had evidence of our joint bank a/c, tickets to and from australia and usa, hotel etc etc....I had so much stuff they had to give me special permission to walk it all in with my folder...

In the end the officer asked how we met 22 years ago and I started crying and couldnt talk....(they dont have tissues in the sydney office)...it took a while before I pulled myself together....and then I had to talk about how we finally got back with each other after 17 years apart....by this stage I was dying to show her our pictures etc...but nope....didnt want to see a thing....not even the email subject lines....

In the end i was a little annoyed I had compiled all this evidence and no one wanted to check or look at it...

oh well...I think the officers will only check on this stuff if you hadnt seen each other face to face

Good luck and cheeers....

Best. Post. Ever. I blanked every single last one of our chats. It would have taken me YEARS to edit just one DAY full of chat.

It might be a good idea to look in the regional branch for the Phillipines to get an idea of what other couples have used as relationship evidence and how much is needed. As others have mentioned, you do not need to send ANY relationship evidence with the I-129F petition (other than having met in person at least one time). Many couples do send at least some because it will go in the file that is sent to the consulate.

As a general principle, what they are looking for in terms of relationship evidence is proof that you do regularly communicate. Chat logs are not the only way to show this. Other couples have used phone records (showing frequent calls to each other), emails, or multiple visits. Any cards or letters you mail to each other can help as well. We sent printouts of five emails. The ones I picked were ones that showed we talked about things like common interests (my dog, baseball, travel) and covered the entire time from when we started dating until we sent the petition. I also printed out the inbox from my hotmail account, showing that my then-fiance emailed me almost every day. What is enough for Vancouver may not be enough for Manila, so please do check the regional branch, but that might at least give you an idea what types of evidence can show a bona fide relationship.
