hi guys!

feels like ages since I've been on here! 2+ years since I came over on a K1 visa.

It is time now to apply for ROC and I have a question about affidavits.

Can they be signed by a family member of my husband? He is the US citizen.

We have quite a few friends but not that we see weekly.

The closest friends are his family.

How important are these affidavits?

I feel like we have enough evidence but you never know so I would rather be safe than sorry...

The USCIS does not consider Affidavits as strong proof. We used affidavits from family and friends because some utility companies would not add my wife's name on the monthly bill.

Thanks guys!

The reason why we thougth about including affidavits is because it actualy says it right on the I-751 instructions from USCIS.

Personaly I don't think they are a strong proof either..

We have no utility bills on both our names...

Well, we have our cell phone plan together but I think it only has my husband's name on it.. I will have to look into that.

Last night I spent hours digging for pictures on the computer...

I really have not paid much attention to gathering evidence during the last 2 years. We just lived our normal life and now we have to prove that we did live a normal life... Funny...

We had 3 wedding ceremonies and 2 receptions. Is that good proof of being "really" married? lol

I am not trying to blast you off...but "trying to live a normal life" and "not paying attention" is now making you question if you've got enough evidence and could (not saying it will) earn you an RFE.

Personally I've lived a normal 2yrs, but I also paid attention to evidence. Anytime I laid my hands on what could be evidence, I added into a file. When I was ready to file, it took me a few hours to put my application together. If you wait till last minute to start collecting stuff you may end up missing something and spending waaaaay too much time.

Here's hoping to a good ROC for you.
