Hello Vj family,

I'm confused as to whether taking an oath before a Consular officer on your CR-1 interview day is a sign of 'APPROVAL'? I'm asking because most of the CR-1 applicants who were approved stated in their review that they took an oath in front of a consular officer and also I did not take an oath when I first went for my CR-1 interview which was denied.

No taking an oath is not a sign of approval...it's just one of the many things/events that will happen at the interview.

Citizenship next step!

Taking the oath is not a sign of approval - everyone is required to take the oath before the interview begins. It has no bearing on the outcome of the interview.
