Hi Gents,

Regarding country of domicile,

My wife, USC, live in Egypt since our marriage @ June 08.

11 months later, she traveled to US to get our first baby for 6 months.

Then she came back to Egypt with our baby for 14 months until now.

We got I-130 approved 3 weeks ago, and now we are filing I-864, and we will use I-864A for another household member.

my question is due to this long interval, what is considered country of domicile? what else should we do? what addresses should be written?

one more question,

what if she traveled back to the states, next month for 4 months...can we assume that country of domicile is USA and go as normal process?

Any advise?

Thanks

"and yes usa would be the country of domicile"

Hi.

If your wife heads back to the US to permanently stay there before filing your I-864, then she can put down the country of domicile as the USA. This is of great advantage to your I-864 filing because she can avoid having to prove domicile in the US which is some legwork those of us outside the US when filing the I-864 have to deal with.
