California Service Center is the only office that doesn't do interviews and that means your green card will automatically come in by mail. and the process time is faster.

Aug 11 - my fince entered US with Fiance Visa

Aug 22 - we got married

Sep 1 - we applied for adjustment of status

Oct 26 - we received mail that was Transfered to CSC

Nov 1 - Notice for FingerPrint

Nov 15 - did fingerprint

Nov 22 - received work permit

Today Nov 27, we're checking only and they approved the GC on Nov 26 and we should be expecting it my mail soon.

Those online blogs have been so helpful to do my research, so in return I am contributing some postivie and my success story.

So transfering to CSC is a good thing.

Cheers and good luck

I'm glad your green card process went smoothly....just a tip though, be careful of making broad statements. Being transfered to CSC does not mean that you will not have an interview and you will get your green card automatically. Plenty of people who get transfered to CSC still have an interview. Some people get transfered to CSC and then back to Missouri. CSC also does not conduct the interviews - the are held at field offices around the country. So yes, being sent to CSC is a good sign, but it doesn't always mean the end of the road.

From my experience of not being transferred to CSC, it is not necessarily as good a sign as you might think. Sure you generally don't get an interview, but our case which went to interview in Cleveland (which was very simple and nothing to worry about) was approved between 1-2 months before any of those those that were transferred to CSC who filed at the same time. That of course relies heavily on how busy your local office is.

So it really is your definition of a good sign, and which you think is worse:

-slower processing times, in some cases

-having an interview, which shouldn't be something to worry about unless you have something you should be worried about (ie fraud, etc.)

I agree with these posters, getting transferred to the CSC is not necessarily a short cut or favor. Many folks are lost in limbo waiting to hear back, for months and months, their AOS package is just lost in a black hole somewhere. It is preferred to get an interview date, 'cause you know you got it, and if you do your basic preparations for it, you will do just fine and approved for a GC in short order. Most times of late, a CSC no interview "shortcut" is nothing but. Good luck to all filers, and bring home the Green!

So what do I make of having my AOS transfered to the CSC? I don't even have my biometrics appointment letter yet! I called USCIS a couple of times about expediting my EAD and provided them with requested documents, but what is going on?
