I apologize if I am confusing you with another member, but hadn't you posted not too long ago asking how to cancel the process? I thought the beneficiary was no longer interested in the visa even though the petitioner still had hope that things would work out. Is that you? If not, I'm sorry for the confusion and I hope NOA2 gets to you soon!

yup,and the petitioner and i got back together after a week or so with the promise of individual for now and ( hopefully soon ) couples counseling,so far so good

Or maybe we should know a little more about your uncertainty?

typical stuff, you know even hearing something doesnt necessarily mean we are gonna get approved.

I hope things get better for you both. it's going to be a hard long road for you both if you have to already have counseling and you are not married or sharing the same culture yet. You are both brave to chance a relationship that is already rocky. I hope you overcome everything and wish you the best. It's a lot to risk when both parties are not 100% sure it will work and then if it does not work out, you have to send the other person back to their home country. A lot of sacrificing....BEST WISHES

It can be frustrating, my journey to IR-1 took over 3 years. Many tears and a little heartbreak later, I am here in the states with my hubby.. and the 3 years VANISHED!! Keep your chin up, and know for sure.. your turn will come! It is well worth it all in the end.

Read my signature.. it got me through many many hard immigration days!

Invictus..

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

I am genuinely sick and tired of waiting. It's been nearly 148 days and still nothing,no touches,no updates,no noa2,and to think this is just the first part of the whole thing and that our embassy is completely booked till march just makes it worse. How is it fair that some people go through the entire process in five months, when some have to wait five months to get their noa 2?I am really about to lose my cool and I think I have earned the right to over the past five months.

I was stuck in USCIS for 7 months. Just wait until the end of the 6 month mark and call the very next day. That's what I did it would have went through faster had my attorney not forgotten the marriage license translated to English. That added another 2-3 weeks on the already long wait. Good luck hang in there. Now I get to wait some more at the NVC.

I always say you should count your blessings and always remember there is someone worse off than you. It has been two years that I have been fighting with immigration to get my husband back home...and there have been others on this website that waited much longer. yes, it is extremely to hard to be left in the dark with the whole process. I always found it easier when they updated my case to know that the case was actually being moved along but those periods of pergatory I call it are the hardest. Keep your head up and pray for your case to go smoothly. You will be living with your loved one much sooner than I will be. Good luck and God Bless.

If I could be anything, I would be a tear.

you know i think if it wasnt for the fact that i know what i have, and how blessed i am for having what i have,i wouldnt have been able to make it through two years of long distance relationship,7 months of it stuck in the visa process.my only problem, the only thing that is driving me nuts is,well two things, first the uncertainty ( what if after all this time we get an RFE?what if we get stuck in AP already, which has happened to one of my friends ) and second of all the fact that we were given a headline.

youre completely right, this wait is not even comparable to the periods that you are waiting yet you know what is going on.

thank you

im by no means the picture perfect wife to be,AT ALL  this entire process just triggered my anger issues and insecurities.it has played me a lot.i have to be honest, even tho a lot of our arguments are started and all about what HE does,im the one with the real issue here, and im not afraid to admit it.we are all in our relationships, hoping for it to work out,if counseling is all it takes, then what the heck, thats a pretty good deal if you ask me.

good luck to you

Are you the beneficiary or the petitioner?

Be more patient for still you have a long way to go. To me the most difficult part was waiting for interview appointment. For some unknown reasons at this stage most people think their documents are lost somewhere and never got to embassy and I was one of those of course hahaaha

Don't worry! Things will go good and you'll be together before you know!

Hang in there! Our K-1 petition took over 6 months to be approved as well - and that was back in 2003 (things haven't changed much in those years, have they?). My then fiance and I almost didn't make it due to the stress of that waiting, and when our approval came in it was somewhat bitter sweet because I didn't know if it came in soon enough to overcome his feelings that 'if it is taking this long something is wrong and maybe we aren't meant to be'. It really is the hardest part of the whole process! As you can see by my timeline, we did stick it through, though and will be celebrating our 7th anniversary this Spring. (We were married a year to the date that our I-129f was received with USCIS).

So - I promise you, things do get better and this is one of the hardest parts of the whole process. Good luck to you.

(Oh, and venting is never useless - it is needed to deal with the frustrations  ).

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

aww thank you kathryn, its nice to see things do work out.one of my biggest fears ( i have so many! ) is that for some reason our petition passes the expiration date or things dont work out because of the wait.its really assuring to see people who went over the five months time frame did get their noa 2

If the petition passes the expiration date and there has been no action on it from the Consulate, you don't need to worry. It will automatically be re-validated to allow time for the petition to be processed. This is actually quite common as in many cases the original petition expires before there is a chance to complete the processing.

Yeah, this process is tough on a relationship. Use this time as a chance to get to know your fiance better - try to make a game of it ie - questionnaires like 20 questions: "What is your favourite colour, 'what is the name of your first pet', just every day sort of stuff like that. Treat it like a game, though, and both of you do it. Find opportunities to spend time together on line. One of the things my husband and I used to do is share Sunday morning breakfast - he in Atlanta and me in Canada - and eat together. We talked to each other at least once a day even if just to say 'sweet dreams, goodnight and I'm thinking of you". We exchanged emails and discussed items of interest on the news together. I also started to check the Atlanta newspaper on line to get a 'feel' for my intended new home. It helped to make me feel closer to him as well as helping to pass the time. I didn't discover VisaJourney until just before my green card was approved in 2006 so yes, it was a very lonely time when it felt like there was no one else who understood our situation.

So, again, good luck and I hope you get your NOA2 soon- at least then you can feel like you are doing something and it helps so much.
