After being a little down that I wouldn't be with my sweetheart for the holidays I decided to make the best of it!

I'm starting my holiday cards today and over the next few weeks I'm decorating -- Christmas tree and all, baking cookie as gifts, hosting a holiday open house and completely cleaning a closet out for my SO by January 1, 2011

Throughout I'll be taking pictures for him and sending them via mail- we aren't able to Skype. I just got Wii Fit, so that will be my other outlet. In short I refuse to let this wait get the best of me! :D

What are you doing to make the time past this holiday season?

Wii Fit is SO fun! I like the Wii Fit Plus too. Been using it for strength trainning and as long as you dont "cheat" the program and you really do work at it, it will work!

I'm fortunate enough to be able to have my fiance come visit me and my family for the holidays. I hope everyone manages a happy, safe holiday season. :)

Thank goodness my fiance is coming to visit over Christmas and New Year. Thanksgiving was rough, we've been together for the last two and not having him there was tough on my whole family. Wine has helped ;) I'm also trying to get myself into the Christmas spirit so I have the apartment clean, full of goodies and decorated by the time he gets here!

First of all... I received my passport today!!! It really cheered both of us up today, because it is one step closer. I will be flying to Moldova for her interview! Woo!

Second... I have been lifting weights everyday so that by the time comes for me to go there I will be looking even better!

Third... Not for the holidays, but I cleaned out the closet and hung all her clothes up and put her shoes nice and neat about a week after she left. Something to make her more comfortable when she gets home!

Fourth... We do Skype, everyday for about 5+ hours a day. We couldn't imagine not having it. It really does make it much easier to be able to see eachother everyday.

Last... We trust eachother indefinitely. It is the golden crown to any relationship.

Good Luck!

I worked my behind off.... if there were any hours available I took them. It also helped that I worked in a jewelry store and christmas is our busiest time.

It helped me be distracted, and it put some extra dollars in my bank account. I also did an online course.. that kept me pretty busy when they dragged me kicking and screaming out of the store at the end of each day.

Invictus..

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

Violent physical exercise is always good, whether it helps your state of mind or it makes your body hurt so much that you temporarily forget about being apart from your SO, si man.

Do something generous (as in a donation of your time, funds, or effort) for a relative or for a stranger who's less fortunate than you are. If you're not a Christian, contact a hospital, nursing home, or other people-related outfit to learn what kind of volunteer help you can offer on Christmas Eve & Day so that regular employees can spend time with their families, si man.

Go on an inexpensive mini-road trip, either overnight or a day trip. See something interesting, and make mental notes in regard to trips that you and your SO can take later, si man.

Make adequate closet space in your house or apartment. Be brutal. Donate clothing, books, furniture, and other possessions to a nonprofit organization (retaining receipts for possible tax-deductions later), si man. Don't underestimate the amount of extra space that a second person will require, no man.

Shop with a sensible and frugal plan, remembering to budget for upcoming marital and household expenses. Do your shopping only after putting the entire AOS fee amount in an otherwise completely untouchable account. Especially if your SO is not from a VWP country, budget also for a trip to be with him or her during his or her visa interview, whenever this may be scheduled. If you can't realistically afford to do much shopping without endangering the amounts for the above priorities, write each of your friends and relatives a real holiday card/letter (on paper, with individualized content, mailed with a postage stamp). They may enjoy this as much as a holiday present or even more, si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Ok you guys have great ideas, but how do I really get out of this rut and start to exercise, make room etc. I talk to my husband daily, but when it is time to say good night, my heart breaks. Do not get me wrong, I am plenty busy with two boys, but I have little motivation to do anything but prepare for our process and his interview. I worry that his interview will not be easy because Morocco is very difficult. I just can't get myself to exercise even though I know that it will help me alot.
