Since you guys are applying for IR1/CR1, you shouldn't worry too much. The interviews for spouses are not terribly intimidating.

My interview was over a year ago, but you can visit my timeline and scroll down to read about my interview experience: Link to Kaye's Timeline

You'll probably find it amusing, the interviewing officer even apologized to me for making us wait for the visa so long. lol

Am sure your spouse will be fine. biggrin.gif

Bring every conceivable document you have to show as bonafide evidence of marriage...and photocopies. You never know what the Embassy has lost or will need another copy of...having whatever piece of paper they need right there that day will save you a lot of headache.

Bring home the pink! And Happy Thanksgiving!

We had our interview in October. We had all the things you mentioned but only the guard asked for them. Still, it's better to have too much than not enough. The one thing that caused us a 3 week delay was the CENOMAR. The cenomar we had was expired. If you don't have a recent cenomar, I recommend getting one. My wife had to go to Pasay City to get one and then wait 3 weeks for the visa to be delivered Air21... (which they never delivered and forced her to travel 3 hours to the neighboring province to pick it up. It's the one thing that the Consular requested during the interview.

Check our timeline for the interview questions. They did want more pictures & a couple of cards at the interview, but it wasn't much.

My wife just brought our marriage certificate on NSO security paper, but was never asked for it as that is what I submitted to the NVC. Unless there are new requirements (check the IV packet 3 at the embassy's site) you will need a CENMAR. When you apply for a CENOMAR it should come back and actually be your CENMAR. My wife used her CENOMAR when we applied for the marriage license.

MAKE SURE YOU GET A CERTIFICATE OF NO MARRIAGE (CENOMAR) FROM NSO. THE EMBASSY WANTS TO SEE IF THERE ARE NO PREVIOUS MARRIAGES ON RECORD AND IF SO, THEY ARE LEGALLY ANNULED. GOOD LUCK

SO meaning, even if I am already married I still need to get the CENOMAR?

Hi guys! I just want to verify the requirement for the police clearance. According to the packet 4 list of requirements and instructions, you need to get a police clearance if you've stayed in a country other than the Philippines for more than 6 months. Am I right to assume that you don't need to get the police clearance for a K1 visa interview if you've never traveled outside the Philippines at all? That all you need is the NBI clearance? Someone please clarify or confirm this.

Thanks!

Yes if they have never left the PI all they need is an NBI clearance.
