Weird, that's what i used and it worked. When i went to pick up the visa's the lady at the office said the telephone inquire people are not really up to speed on things and may give you wrong information.

I think you will have them by Wednesday of next week.

Anybody here have the visa info line phone number handy?

The DHL guy told me this morning when I called, that the reference number I gave him was not a waybill number. I told him all I knew was that what I was given was called a reference number, and that it was a visa I needed to track. He said the number I gave him had nothing to do with a visa. ??? Oh and the guy sounded like I woke him from a deep sleep. GRRRR! (Find another job, buddy.)

I can understand if my reference number isn't registered yet with DHL (probably not in their system yet)...because I had my interview on Tuesday and was told paperwork had to be processed and entered into the database...and then of course there was the holiday on Thursday... "sighhhhhhhhhh"........

I just wanna go home.

The DHL location that is closest to me is just outside of Ottawa, about 2 hours drive from from Montreal.

Canadiandggal: Very true! I'm sure some DHL locations have more pickups than others.

By the way, Tim/Erin, the person I spoke to on the visa info line told me that you need to select "reference number" not "waybill" for that reference ID to work. The person I spoke to at DHL told me that the reference ID wouldn't work, even when the package is available. Go figure.

The 'reference'number you see is not the DHL waybill number. When (and IF!) they post it,it will appear on the left column. Mine never got posted. I called my local US Consulate and they kept checking for me. They're the ones that gave me the waybill number (I think it starts with an 'S')and I used that to check on the dhl site. Mine came in a week after my interview. I had picked it up and it still wasn't even showing on the gov website as being shipped.

Can we still do Xpress Post instead of DHL? The closest DHL location is 1 1/2 hours from my husband, and we would rather wait to have it delivered directly to his house.

Has anyone done this?

I brought my Xpresspost envelope with me just in case, as my nearest DHL is a four hour bus ride away! When I asked if I could still use it instead of DHL, the woman interviewing me looked at my envelope as if it carried the plague and quickly said, "No! No, no, we have nothing to do with those!" and walked away. But my 1st interviewer was also not overly friendly, but I took it to mean that they no longer give you the option! :(

I called DOS yesterday and they told me my visa in the "section" of the consulate where they're printed. They couldn't say how long it would be sitting there in the lineup, but I'll be calling several times a day from now on to check on the status of the visa. The minute I know it's been printed I'll be calling DHL several times a day too. As soon as it's available I'm outta here to pick it up, then we're heading home. :)

Have you ever gotten through to DHL.. They won't talk to me because I don't have a waybill num so just wondering how your making out with it. I'm also waiting, mine was printed 3 weeks ago.

EEEK!! Sounds like montreal is even slower than they were in April... I didnt think that was entirely possible! Im sending all my happy thoughts your way T & E... it can be soo frustrating!

Invictus..

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

Hi there,

I am currently waiting for my visa as well. We had our visa interview on Monday, and the lady at the front desk told us to check on Thursday or Friday. Today is Saturday but we still havent seen any update on their website regarding our waybill number. I just wonder could you please help me with the following questions: when you received your visa, how many business days you waited, were you notified by DHL, or you saw the updated waybill after how many days.

Again, your help is very much appreciated!!! I am really panic right now. If I dont go back to the States soon, I'm afraid I'll lose my job...

Thanks!

Agreed!... I was checking none stop for an update on the usvisa site but never got an update. I then saw the dhl.ca site and used the reference number. It worked for me...

Awesome. Thanks for posting this guys. I really think this should be mentioned in the guides or at least on the montreal Consulate information page on here. I'll keep using my reference ID on DHL.ca to check the status. Thanks guys!

Just to make mention. The reference ID worked for me. I am now able to track the visa. It shipped out on the 1st. When I check the CSC the waybill number still hasn't posted.

So all in all you can use your reference ID to check to see if your package has been shipped. It seems to be the most reliable avenue to go.

Goodluck everyone!

Hey Guys!

Just noticed that some of you never received a waybill or tracking number from the consulate and yet your package was ready for pickup at the DHL office? Is that correct?

Just wondering because I am waiting on my visa still. Had my interview on July 26th. Called the DOS today and they told me that it was issued July 27th. Yet, my CSC visa info page has yet to populate any waybill number or tracking number.

Just curious because I am half tempted to drive the 20 minutes to the DHL office here on Friday and see if it got there.

I got a phone call from DHL seconds after I noticed my waybill number appeared on the CSC page. They just called to tell me it was there to pick up.
