Updates on my fathers petition

09-16-2010 :NOA 1

12-16-2010 :NOA 2 (approval notice)very happy..

12-23-2010 : forwarded to NVC

12-27-2010 : Case # assigned

12-29-2010 : recieved an email from NVC for (AOS) bill

12-30-2010 : payment made for AOS bill

1-3-2011 : payment accepted shown as PAID

1-4-2011 : IV Bill posted

1-4-2011 : Paid the bill and still in process

1-4-2011 : have the (AOS)ready to be send tomorrow

1-5-2011 : Payment accepted shown as paid

1-7-2011 : AOS received at NVC

1-8-2011 : called NVC, operator told me 2-3 weeks review for the AOS documents.

1-18-2011: Ds-230 sent to NVC

1-24-2011: NVC received the DS-230 documents

Can you please share your updates after JAN 24, 2011?

Hello all! Just an update: I called NVC and they confirmed that they received my AOS packet and it is all set (they accepted 2009 tax return - no 2010 return needed). Also, DS-230 packet with all the original biographic data has been received by NVC on FEB 28, 2011 (although my express mail confirmation states - it was delivered to NVC on FEB 14, 2011). Anyway, now when I call NVC auto response system, it says that NVC is reviewing my DS-230 packet for my parents and will notify me when they finish reviewing.

How long does it usually take NVC to review DS-230 packet and assign an interview date considering everything else is OK? Please share your experience.

It takes them approx. Twenty (20) days to review it. Then the case goes under review 1-2 weeks which includes request for an interview date and visa allotment. If the case was completed between 1st - 15th of any month expect to have an interview assigned for the following month and medical notice (packet 3 and 4).

If you email the DS-3032 in the correct format then \yes it would be accepted and they will send you a reply in about 7 days letting you know it was accepted. When the DS-3032 arrives in the mail you can just ignore it. The AOS cover sheet is important it should be on top of the forms that you will send to the NVC.

YOU CAN just send them to the NVC IF you have all the documents that are required.

remember you will need to get the coversheet for both packets

the ONLY instructions that will provide is to make a payment... and if nothing was received then a check list would be generated telling you to do so within a year.

Thank you, RICARDO4EVA2! I really hope that my parents will have their interview in April so they can come to the US in May!

I am looking forward to the NVC completing these cases ASAP! NVC reviewed my AOS packet around 10 days. Maybe DS-230 will be that fast too... I hope!

The NVC typically schedule interview for the NEXT/FOLLOWING month between the 1st-15th days of the month (every). Some Consulates maybe busier than other or just have available slots for interviews and so they will continue through the third week (15-22).

Naughtyca, once you printed cover sheets for AOS and DS-230 packet with the bar code you can go ahead and attach those to your documents and mail them to NVC. NVC will email you as well but all you need is the bar code on the cover sheet available online after you pay the fees.

Also, remember to write the case number on EVERY page (upper right corner) of your AOS and DS-230 packet (do not write anything on the original documents such as birth certificate of course!

it is very UNLIKELY you / they will get an interview in April unless they extend scheduling or the consulate is super slow. If not given I say definitely in May

Good Job!!, i just got my wisdom tooth pulled and set us back a couple of weeks, we already paid the $404 but need to send the affidativ of support and the ds-230 ahhhhh too much things to do :-)

As long as you send them the docs they need (with case number written on each page), they process pretty quickly! Best of luck and keep us posted!
