Hi VJ friends,

I got another question about my GC application. Since I am currently attending school at another state. How should I fill the address on forms? We considered our address at FL (where we get married and my husband currently lives with two of our names on the lease and where we gonna file for GC) as my home address, while my school address is my current contacting address (on my driver's license). So, how should I fill that on the forms? Which address should I use for physical checkup form? I cannot have two residence at the same time right??

Thanks.

Best

Thanks,

But the thing is we do not live together currently, since I am attending graduate school at another state. Should I use the address I am currently living at or our 'home address'?

I would use the actual address at which you two are living.

Jojo- use the address where you are currently living. You can't hide that you are living apart, and yes, a person can have two residences.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Hi Harpa,

Thank you. We are thinking about using my school address on I130 and i485, as this is where I live now. But we gonna put our 'home address' on the g352 form together with my school address as the 'present residence', as we do rent that place together and have our joint financial statement there.

Does that sound good?

Good to know you are in the same situation~~

Is there a section of ' other places lived' on G325A form? I only noticed the 'residence in last five years' sections.

We plan to put these two addresses both as current address, but for other forms (i130, i485), we could only put one address. Which one do you plan to put?

Thanks for sharing~

Was in the same boat as u (Wife attends an out of state college)....we used our current address and filled in her school address in the section of "other places lived" on the G325a form.

Goodluck

Put the address at which you want to do biometrics and have the interview. If you have no problem travelling to where your husband is for a 15 minute biometrics then put your "home address". If it's better if he just comes to you when your interview is then put your school address.

On the I-864 you would put HIS address, and on your paperwork (the I-130 and I-485 etc) you would put the address that you want your GC mailed to, your biometrics and interview near. You can try and change your address later but it's risky.

Thanks Vanessa,

We would like to do biometric and interview at our home address and also expect GC to be mailed there. Because I will finish my school next May, probably earlier than the interview or GC issuing. One more question, if I put our 'home address', will there be a prob that I am actually living on campus most of the time as a full-time student? I do not want them to think we are trying to hide the truth of not living together now.

On your G-325A I would put your current address as school, and your husbands as your "home address"

On the I-130 I would put your address as school, and his as the home address.

On the I-485 this is up to you, this is where the paperwork will be mailed and the address they should use for everything. Technically it's supposed to be your current address but that's easily explained because it's not your PERMANENT address, it's a term address.

This way you've been honest from the start, if they mess up and send it to your school you can try and change it and you have plenty of time to change it. It also shows that you "live" at school but you also "live" with your husband.

Have you ever lived with him? During school breaks etc? If so this is better because you can write that on your G-325A so they can see you live at school while school is in, and home when school is out. Hope that's the case.

Best of luck.

Hi VJ friends,

We met with a lawyer recently to discuss about this address problem.

He suggested us to keep the address consistent on i-130 and 485 (using home address for all), but list my school address on G325 as another 'present address'. Also, we need to include a letter to explain the situation. Since I will graduate in couple of months, maybe even earlier than interview, he does not think it is a big problem for me to just use our home address for the application.

Does this sound good?

Thank you!
