We saw a lot of people got approvals several weeks ago, the CSC people worked for overtime and weekends. Now most of them are taking vacation.

My senator's office today told me that the contracts are running out shortly - I think she said end of September - for most of the workers. So many of them have already left their jobs. Not knowing if their contracts will be renewed means no job security. So once again, they are short-staffed.

Backlog Reduction. The 2006 Budget continues funding for the President’s multi-year $540 million initiative enabling USCIS to reduce the backlog of applications, and ensure a six-month processing standard for all applications by the end of 2006. In 2004, USCIS has continued the focus on quality improvements and expanded national security checks, such as performing background name checks on all applications before approval. Although the checks have initially meant longer processing times, enhanced security will ensure that only eligible applicants are given the right to enter the United States. In addition, USCIS began implementing significant information technology improvements including electronic filing (e-filing) for certain immigration applications.

Over the coming year, the Department will focus on transforming the application process with a greater focus on customers. DHS will establish clear performance milestones, actively monitor progress towards these milestones, and ensure integrity by establishing comprehensive quality assurance measures.

I haven't seen any CSC approvals this week. I wonder if they took the whole week off processing cases to write a stupid memo about processing cases.

I got mine yesterday morning. I started at Texas and was moved to California. I've been waiting since March 18th or so.... (jeez, can't even remember anymore.)

I was 'touched' the night before, but before that, had heard NOTHING from July 18th, when they received our RFE asking me if he's a 'mail order husband' or not. So let's see... that makes it... (hold on, math-tard needs calculator..........) 36 days from 'RFE Received' notice to NOA2. Hope this helps (F)

I receibed my imbra on july l7, and I have heard nothing , so i am still counting the days , but i i didnt file untill may 8, so i guess i need to wait 3 more months . hahhahahaha

I would go there to apply a job. :P

Can you even imagine how truly horrifying it must be to work there, surrounded by all that confusion and incompetence? YIKES

No, but I bet they keep the coffee industry going in full vigor. And while they sip their brew, I would not doubt for a minute they also test posture-pedic matresses .

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Seriously... any one know why no appovals, at least on VJ!!!!?

I know you probably dont know, just thought I might be mising something?

Just a thought here, and I'm sure someone can tell me if my theory doesn't make sense. After the initial flurry of RFEs we had a couple of weeks wait before a week or two of regular approvals. Now it's gone quiet for a couple of weeks again, so could it be that another "set" of applications will be approved soon? I'n not quite sure of how they work (not sure if they are either!), but perhaps they work on a bunch of cases together, which takes a couple of weeks, clear them, and then start on a new batch.

Just thinking out loud. Feel free to tell me if I'm an idiot. People usually do.

I read on the USCIS website about their reporting burden and processing of cases that before IMBRA it took 30 minutes to process a case. Now it takes 90 minutes. So I see no reason for large delays between approvals. Theoretically, we should be seeing them every hours or so. :)
