Thanks everyone

as mentioned, I will make sure I take before/after pics of the decorating! I'm still trying to decide what color to paint our bedroom...I don't want beige(I'm not a fan of beige) or anything too light, but I am just not sure what color! Our current bedroom curtains and accessories are all rusty reds, dark oranges, a little brown...really rich colors so I need something to accent it.

There are the colors (in current bedoom before moving):

this picture is really crooked!

Where in FL are you all again? That's a CUTE CUTE house! I love it. Stewart and I are in Jacksonville - where you cannot get a nice house in a decent area for under 200,000! Even then it's so small.

LOVE your house :) congrats.

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

I vote a really nice, warm yellow (not lemony, but like an ochre)

I am so happy for you! I know how much the 1st house means!

thanks Karo :)

We are in west Hernando County, about an hour north of Tampa. You should have seen the prices here 2 years ago! This house would have been probably $75,000 back then. But you know how crazy all the prices have gotten!

The prices are crazy. I live in Tampa and my home has almost doubled in the past 4 years. I feel lucky to have gotten in before the "hike". Its too bad the prices have gone up so much while the employers are moving out....

Awesome.

I fukced up, I bought in the middle of the boom and my home hasn't appreciated a whole lot. Well realtors who want me to sell tell me it has but actual sales in the area tell me the real appreciation has been around 20% in two years, that's it. And my low ARM rate runs out in 2 years. Still not sure if I wanna refi or hold on to this low rate as long as I can in the hope that we get hit with another recessionary period before 2008 and rates go down again :P

thanks, and warm yellow is a good idea. I had started looking at colors that were a light carmel that had a hint of warm yellow...they look nice!

ya, it's hard for a lot of people to buy houses now!

Friends of ours built a new home about 15mins north of here on an acre of land 2 years ago for $80,000, and the land was only $5000! Well one year later(last march) they were moving to Texas for family reasons, and sold their house for $160,000. Now another year later it could easily have sold for $200,000 because of the acre it's on. Now things are kind of leveling off little by little(I think!).

They are, at least up here in the northeast. Prices are going up but slooooowly. If the stock market heats up too much we may even see slight falls in price as capital leaves real estate and goes into the stock market.

ya...our house was appraised at 154,000...20,000 more than what we are buying it for, which is really cool. But I don't know if it would actually sell for that much right now, maybe in a year. The market has definitely slowed in my area. Last summer was chaos.

LOL, I know. A new development right next to where I live, same models as mine, same sizes, same everything except they're brand new... 3 story condos... going for 415k... my complex is older so units like mine were going in the low to mid 300s... Let's see what this spring/summer brings.
