Thanks guys! :)

Yes, I do feel more "grown up", haha.

The closing date on the mortgage is March 27th, so we'll be moving in after that. It's nice because our rental lease on our current house ends May 1st, so we'll have a little time to move things into the new house instead of rushing. And I could paint some walls before all the furniture goes in! :P I'm thinking of light olive greens/sage greens, pumpkin spice colors, & warm pale yellows...fun! We'll see...

Congratulations on the house purchase!! I'm happy to hear everything is going well for you.

We also just bought a house-had the closing on Friday!! Its a little scary, but very exciting too-we've been thinking of how to renovate and what color for the walls. The previous owners used some very bright colors-lime green, lavender, light orange, royal blue....it actually looks better than you might think-but I want to get rid of the lavender in the kitchen, but I'm not sure what to change it to yet. I've seen some rooms painted in a reddish-orange color-it looks pretty good, but depends on the room I guess. I like sage greens too...well happy painting!!

don't forget to show us pics when you are done! :)

I painted my craft/library room a deep garnet red, with a beige - esque (can't remember the name of it) accent trim, and we put down a wood laminate floor. It looks so cool, so proud of myself LOL Now to plow through all the stuff that goes in it, and put it all away! hehehe

Ooh sounds nice. My parents bought a house recently and my mom had a blast painting and decorating. They painted their living room a nice red and also put in laminate floors! It's a great combo so I know yours must look great too! I love rich colors like that.

thanks for all the congrats, everyone!!

Congratulations to you both. Happy home-making!
