I am leaving for Canada in two days on the Advance Parole, I have not left the US in 8 years so a little nervous travelling on AP while AOS is pending. I should have had my interview by now but for reason unknown to me, no news from USCIS yet.

Anyhow, is there anything I need to take with me apart from the AP and the Passport? I am on H1 so I guess I could take the approval of the H1 extension. Any experience on the road travel and the immigration officers? Do I need to have any sort of registration (NASEERS)?

I am also a little nervous about that line on the AP that says "This document is not for admission".

Your marriage certificate if the names dont match your passport and AP docs. Your AOS NOA1.

If your not canadian you may need a visa to travel to visit canada since you are not a LPR or PR.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

You should be fine if you do not have any criminal history in the USA. I have traveled to Canada by road several times. Its no big deal. Take very little luggage and roll all of your windows down at the border going in to Canada or coming back to States. Have fun. Do not take/bring any food, plants or meats or anything you would not take/bring if you went anywhere by air. Have fun...

As long as you have no overstay you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

** moved from "AOS (Other)" to "Working & Traveling" as this is relating to AP **

Have you been waiting years for your interview and heard nothing?

I ask because I recently had an InfoPass appointment to get my AP expedited (it was approved), and while I was there the Immigration Officer realized that there had been a mix up with my file. My A# number had been mixed up with someone else. The officer said that if I had not come in in person that today, and the problem come to light, then I would have never received an interview and my case would have sat there indefinitely and I would have been waiting for nothing. I would hate for that to happen to you. Maybe an InfoPass appointment to see what's up wouldn't hurt.

Thanks everyone for your reply. I dont have any criminal record (two traffic tickets) and never overstayed.

As for the interview letter, if I was to estimate I am at least 30 days past-due for the interview letter. This is based on the timeline of people within my city who filed in the month I filed.

I have a honeymoon in Hawaii in December so I am afraid to escalate (InfoPass or Congressman) as they may actually end up sending the letter afterwards and I'd hate to have the date conflict with my honeymoon. Will probably follow-up upon my return from Hawaii.

Cheers!
