Hi all. A lot of people are saying submit copies of your stamped passport for evidence. Well I went to canada to see my fiance twice, and I didn't get a stamp either time. I went by bus, could that be why? When she came to see me in the States she flew and did get a stamp. I have the bus ticket and baggage claim tickets from the bus, will that be good enough?

Yes that is good enough.. I have one stamp in my old passport and we have both made a good 15 trips to see each other. I did however have 2 planes trips, tickets etc and one greyhound bus receipt. I do not even think that they looked at my tickets but have it prepared.

They often dont stamp the passports. Iv made many airplane trips where they only looked at my passport and didnt stamp it. Only a few times did they stamp it. My husband only got 1 stamp out of all 4 visits too.

I have visited my fiance many, many times and only have a few stamps - it just depends on the Officer at the border that day. I noticed they started stamping me more often as I was visiting more, just to put a limit on my length of stay, I assume.

Long story short - Canadians sometimes, but rarely, get stamped!

If your bus ticket is dated, and same for luggage tags, you should be okay. Do you also have credit card receipts from being in the same city at the same time? And photos? While they are not primary evidence, they can be used as secondary evidence.

Ps - welcome to VJ! check out the guides at the top. great resources for this process

If you cross the border to canada by car they won't stamp your passport unless you stop at the CBE office and ask to have it stamped. Not sure about travelling buy bus but they probably don't give you time for that.

Basically heres what I got

Primary evidence: Bus tickets and Baggage claim for my second trip to Canada. Not sure if I have the first trip but maybe. My flight boarding passes to seattle where I caught the gryhound to canada. And Her boarding Passes to the states, along with her stamped passport photo.

Secondary evidence: About 18 pictures, letters, emails, Itineraries, Recepits, I could send chat logs too but not sure if I will.

I did use my Debit Card while in Canada. How do I obtain proof of that?

for your debit card - is it similar to the Chase card I have (I have both Canadian & American banking)..... where it's a debit card, but also a visa/mastercard??

I'm not sure if that makes a difference, because your bank should have a record of what you spent and where.... for example, if you go online (if you do online banking), you should be able to click on the card or bank account you want to view, and view transactions. It should list the store & possibly location (it does for me if it's outside of my province) and the amount spent.

If you have something like that, it will show you were there.

Hope that helps!

What else do you have, to prove that you two got together in person?

Hotel receipts, photos, other evidence. When you put all the different evidences together, it should be obvious to any stranger that you two met in person. The dated (and stamped by the bus company?) ticket and the baggage claims are good but to me it doesn't place you two together. I'd personally would want to see more.
