I was a kid living in Dallas at the time. I was in the 2nd grade in elementary school and the school was let out early for kids to have the opportunity to go see the Kennedy motorcade. I didn't go.

The most vivid moment of that event for me was watching live local TV with my dad when Lee Harvey Oswald was shot by Jack Ruby. My dad was stunned. It was rather bizarre that the accused assassin of Kennedy was himself assassinated days after the event. And live on TV to boot. Strange days indeed.

I lived in Dallas at that time and I was also in the second grade. I actually got to see the motorcade as it drove from Love Field to Downtown Dallas. I saw the motorcade as it drove on Lemmon Ave. near Oak Lawn Ave. The only reason I was able to see the motorcade was because I had an ear infection and my mother had taken me to our doctor whose office was located near the intersection of Oak Lawn Ave. and Cedar Springs Road.

After seeing the motorcade we went to eat lunch at a local grill and it was while there that we learned that President Kennedy had been assassinated.

Dealey Plaza is really a surreal place. I encourage everyone who has the chance to go there and check it out. There is some element of touristy schlock, but it's well worth the trip. It's hard to explain.

The former Texas School Book Depository has a museum on the 6th floor.

Been there several years back (early 90s). The Sixth Floor wasn't much of a museum back then but now it appears to be huge!! I found walking around on the knoll and by the fence to be more surreal.

I was born in 1964 so the death of JFK didn't have much of a direct impact on me. Too young to remember the assassination of RFK and MLK so I never got into the mystic of these men as it seems their real legacies were obscured by their violent and untimely ends.

My older brother eventually ended up working at Parkland Hospital and saw the room where they conducted the autopsy.

Someone I know what just telling me about a show on Coast to Coast AM talking about the Kennedy Assassination. Every-bodies favorite conspiracy theory late night AM radio show. I guess they were putting it on recently because of the anniversary. They had several guests. A guy that wrote several books on JFK, another man that was the original investigator who has been investigating the assassination for 20 years and a third guest that I can't recall who it was that my friend was telling me about.

Anyways during the show they said it was heavily covered up and a lot of people were in on it. The mob was in on it, LBJ was heavily involved and even members of JFK's family. Those that wouldn't keep their mouths shut were eliminated. Everybody who had sensitive information prior to what happened was killed within two years afterwords. JFK had information four months prior to going to Dallas that he wouldn't get out alive and he never should have gone.

From the film the investigator could pick out 10 shots that were fired and believed it was a sniper team doing a triangulated shot. That JFK was shot from the front and it went out the back of his head and was not the correct direction Oswald would have been shooting from. That from the depository there was no way that Oswald could have made three shots in seven seconds from that window. That Oswald was seen on the first floor drinking from a cup by several people when the shooting occurred. Security came in and asked him what his name was and he told them his name and they smiled at him and said yes you are and then they went upstairs to meet whoever was really up there.

They said Oswald had been security detail for the CIA for years working and living in a science laboratory as a personal guard and was the fall guy for the assassination. That LBJ had signed orders to go into Vietnam War before JFK was even dead because he knew he would be President that day. That going into that war was a farce and everybody knew it but it was big business for those who were really behind the assassination. That there was more than JFK's assassination and they were not just in the US and that these guys were assassinating people around the globe. It was a global take over with $ millions $ maybe $ billions $ of reasons why to stop anybody in their way.

They say the American dream really died in 1963 with JFK and everything he stood for. That every President afterwords has been their puppet to bring us where we are today, globalization & world domination.

It all seems pretty bleak and hopeless.

Oliver Stone rehashed the whole mess in his film JFK.

Repeating this stuff a gazillion jillion times doesn't make it any more plausible than the very first time.
