I work 15 miles away from my home in Melboring (Melbourne) FL. It takes me about 20 mins without traffic. It takes about 30-40 mins. when there are a ton of snowbirds in town.

I work approx. 13 miles from home. The commute takes around 15-20 mins in the morning unless traffic is bad then it can take up to 45 mins. Coming home is about the same. I generally run into more traffic in the morning than in the evening.

I live about 4 miles from where I work. How fast I get there depends on how many red lights there are. In this crappy little city the timing on the red lights is really ridiculous and inefficient.

For many years of my life I lived about 30 miles from where I worked. It really sucked, especially in major snowstorm weather. There were times it would take me 2 hours to get home.

I've been there, too and it sucks! For two years I lived about 28 miles from work. It took 45 mins to an hour on a normal day and if it snowed at least 2 hours. Hated it.

I live 10 miles from work and once, many years ago, it took me over 3 hours to get home during a snowstorm. The back roads I normally use were all shut down and the only way to get home was the highway. That was the only way to get home for me and... for everyone else. It barely moved.

In hindsight, it's a minor miracle I'm still not stuck on that highway.

Live in Tampa and commute to Orlando. 82 miles each way, takes about 75 mins. I don't hit any traffic going to work with only some west bound I4 at hometime. Could be worse, some people sit in cars for 90 minutes stop start to go 25 miles. Though the car is taking a pasting!

Ouch. I used to have a commute like this when I lived in Israel. It was 90km (~50miles) each way from Haifa-TelAviv area, and I would often get into gridlock entering Tel Aviv. I used to spend 2.5-3hours in the car daily, and totally hated it.

When I moved back to the US, reorganizing my life was a major priority for me. I intentionally sought a job in the city (Chicago) near the train, and a house in the suburbs walking distance to the train. Now my commute consists of a 10 minute walk followed by a 30 minute train ride followed by a 5 minute walk. I read on the train and absolutely love my commute.

I see that I'm the only person who answered the poll under the "Train" option.
