Hello Everyone,

I'd like to address my question to the senior members of this forum or anyone who is in a similar predicament.

I'm very concerned that I still have not received my biometrics appointment from the time we sent in our application in June, and because of this all our paper works are in suspense.

On July 17, 2010, we received an RFE for the Affidavit of Support they were asking for the 2009 Federal Income Tax & a copy of our marriage certificate.

On August 16, we complied to the RFE and USCIS received it on the 22 of August. After this we have not received any communication from the USCIS regarding Biometrics, 765 and 485.

September 22, I filed a service request for Biometrics on I-485 and a week after they sent me a letter acknowledging the service request and that processing of my paper works are in suspense awaiting biometrics. It also states that I should wait for a slot available to me.

October 26 I scheduled an Infopass appoinment to know more about my biometrics problem.

October 27, We went in for an Infopass, the Immigration Officer informed us that there is a back log for Biometrics in our area. He tried to put in a request for my Biometrics but the computer's response was Capacity doesn't exist. He told us to wait as my name is already in the computer and am just waiting an available slot for me.

Nov.22, today I made a service request again on my case this time I did it on the 765.

Everyone tells me to wait, I know I should and I have expected the waiting game and the red tape but not on the Biometrics. I never thought that Biometrics will take this long. Is this normal? Whatelse should I do? Should I make an Infopass appointment again? The whole processing is in suspense because of this and its starting to depress me, instead of a step forward, I feel like it's a step bacward. All our plans are on hold. :(:(:(:(:(

Thank you very much for all your inputs. Your advices will be very appreciated.

I would contact your congressman at this point or attempt to walk in and be scheduled, as that is a long wait. If you look at the July 2010 filers under the family-based visas you will see some people who had success doing this after waiting more than 90 days for biometrics.

Thank you for all your replies..I will check and find out who my congress representative or state senator is..

Does writing your senator and congressman really work? Did any of you do that?...How do I know where my biometrics will be taken? There are a few places in my area..

I'm really feeling down with this immigration process...I hope someone in a similiar situation such as mine will chime in...:(

I have definitely read a lot of threads where people have asked their congressmen for help, and in most cases it seems to have helped expedite the EAD.... not sure about the rest of the applications though....

Also, i think you will be scheduled at the ASC which is local to your home address, i live in Brooklyn, and mine was scheduled for the Brooklyn ASC, although i ended up at the Manhattan Varick Street ASC as its by my work

I'm sorry i don't have any further advice
